Removing the battery on zx10r? How do you remove the battery on the zx10r the easiest way? I dissconnected everything and the tank bar is in the way. Do I need to remove the tank to get the battery out? Pain in the ass! Also, is it likely the battery if the bike doesn't turn over? I left town for two weeks and didnt put a trickle charger so the bike is dead, when I start it is just tried but won't actually start up. I tried jumping it with my car, (without turning the car on) and the bike lights came on, which they werent before, but the bike wouldnt turn over. Likely the battery? Also, easiest way to remove or change the battery? Thanks

I went and bought a battery charger...I bought two just incase...one is a 2, 6, and 10 amp or something like that and the other is a 1.5 amp...the 1.5 amp will charge a 6 or 12 volt battery...our zx10r's are 12 volt batteries right? Also, what amp should I set the charger to for best charge? Any settings someone could please tell me? I am desperate to get the bike started.

using the lowest rate of charge is easiest on a battery. I would take the 1.5 amp back and keep the 2, 6 and 10 amp to use for your other vehicles as well; but charge on 2 amp as a preference..
I use ten amps if I just need a jump start to assist during cold days on my other bike if the battery is just weak and I am ready to ride during a ridable winter day...slow charging is best I believe.
Jump starting with your car should have worked if the connections are solid/good. Both systems are 12 volts so no danger there. The smaller battery/system will only draw what it needs from the larger battery/system so short term is ok ..but a high rate of charge for long term could overheat the plates . As always be careful with the leads. Keep sparks away from the battery to be the safest.. can ground the neg connection to bike somewhere metal for ground and not at the bikes/car neg terminal to be sure you don't ignite battery fumes.
I have never had one blow up but I am sure it can happen.
