Good price, but yesterday's news. I'd try to talk them down further and if they don't budge tell them you've got interest in an 05 R1. If they still not agreeable I'd walk. You're certainly holding the hammer on this one. I'm in Toronto and near as I can gather, they're still sitting on 02 zx-7s. Not to compare that machine with the 10, but once its stale they're really hard to move...I'm sure the dealer will be motivated to sell.

With the rebates, it should be in the mid-high $9k range OTD. The price you have listed is way high for a '05 model now.

Way too much! Buy your new '06 at another dealer and save some money.

hell I paid 10200 OTD for my 04 in 04

I woudl guess with a new model being released that the 05 wouldnt go for much more than 9500 OTD....I woudnt give any more than that.....

THAT is in CANADIAN Dollars, Then there is TAX and Prep !! So even if you Convert to US dollars at today's RATES it Works out to the !! 11000.00 US RANGE !!
( that is SUBTRACTING the Exchage rate if my MATH is CORRECT?? ) Give or Take a BIT so Not Such a good DEAL!! They Told me That the 2006 Would be 15900.00 CANADIAN Before Tax and Prep That's Why The 11900.00 Sound's Good!!

the canadian dealers pay more and charge more...US dealers have it better since they can move more and sell for much cheaper. I would try to get them down another $few hundred$ and if they do then get it cause in richmond that is a good price for a new zx10r out the door, expect to pay much more on the 06...you could always try US dealers and see how much the import tax is, I heard it was like $1000 on my porsche and the car's value at the time I checked was around $55 or $60k so importing a zx10r valued at $8k or $9k might be very little. I am not sure how it is calculated, I might be waaaay off, but just a thought.

Import taxes might be minimal, but you better check on if a Canadian dealer would honor the factory warranty of a U.S. bike.

If I remember correctly, several years back, if a silver 12R was brought into the U.S. from Canada, many U.S. dealers (if not all of them), would NOT honor the original factory one year warranty or sell an extended warranty on it either. I could be wrong, but its worth checking before you got a U.S. bike that no Canadian dealer would work on.

Here in the UK the official release price is £8800 but there will probably be some dealers doing deals on the new 06 ZX10R. The 04 and 05 models were £9045 and you could get a deal if you shopped around.

Living in WA state, I see a lot of bikes that go back and forth to our Canadian friends. Warranties are NOT honered if purchased from outside the country FYI.
