If I've said it once, I've said it a million times PIRELLI DIABLO CORSAS
PERIOD.
I ride like a maniac through canyons and on the freeway every day to and from work. I also street race, stunt and do all sorts of socially unacceptable things with my 10R and those tires never flinch. I've torn up more sets of tires from every brand (Dunlop being the WORST) than I can count and trust me there is nothing better than the Pirelli's.
Make sure you get the Corsas and don't pay more than $300 for the set.

Is this the green DOT you speak of?

I ran Bridgestone BT014's on my 05 10R and I loved them!
The new 10 I am getting comes with Dunlop Qualifiers (WTF!!!) so I am going to swap them off to the 014's. Kawi puts them on the 6R, why not the 10R??

Beans...........I run 014s on my 12R and love them. I swear that they have never slipped even once. I'm on the second set of them and it's the same results. They do seem to have some road harshness to them, but that's a small price to pay and I might be able to tune that out with pressures. I rum a little on the firm side of the gauge. Seems to provide me with more feel as to what the tire is doing. I'm going to try some Powers on the 10R next.

silver12r.... so what kind of milegae are you getting out of those tires? Have you ever considered trying the Diablo stradas? You're running the bike on the street so it escapes me why you would run such a soft tire.
You're just throwing your hard earned $$ out the window IMHO.

Now that you mention it, the white DOT is quite fetching as well. Or felching. Sometimes the line between them is a bit blurred.

I get 3000 or so miles out of a set and I ride the shit out of them. I spend more than half my ride in the canyons everyday and I chose the softer tires 'cause it's cheaper to replace rubber than fairings. Just a little extra insurance/reassurance.
Have you ridden the Stradas? If so, how do you like them?

I read it in the store rather than buying it...
They rated the new Dunlop highest including in traction and steering but, in typical Dunlop style, the tire was rapidly coming apart from just riding their test loop.
My take is, Dunlop is enjoying a TEMPORARY advantage in traction, steering etc. due not only to Dunlop's less concern for the tire retaining integrity (or less ability to deal with the issue) but due simply to being temporarily the only ones to have released their 2006-spec tire.
I would bet the next Pirellis and Michelins retake the lead for grip and don't tear up from hard use.
They might be a hot ticket on a supermoto, which would stress them less.

At this point, even if Dunlop suddenly were making the greatest tire in the world, I hate them so much from past experience - I wouldn't even try them.
