Why choose carbon fiber over titanium?

mostly looks of the carbon...stays a little bit cooler to the touch then the ti, but otherwise both carbon and ti are much cooler then aluminum...also shows less signs of scratches, doesn't have to be wiped and polished/cleaned...but shows signs of wear and fading...so both have their downsides..
