Shifting to 3rd Gear

Hello fellow 10R owners. I have a problem, I am finding it very difficult to shift to 3rd Gear on my bike. I move the pedal up, and it seems to stay in 2nd gear. I adjusted the pedal to suit me, but I still felt it when i got on it and shifted to 3rd. Can anyone tell me if there is a problem with the bike or is it my riding? I have been riding bikes for 15 years, and have riden 6R/9R/600 all Kawi, and this bike is the only one giving me a problem. Is there some trick or is it the gear ratio that is messing me up? Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks....

Is it an 40 or 05? I have an 05 and it is one of the smoothest shifting bikes I have ever owened or riden. It most likely a tranny problem.

the 04's had some shifting issues, or so I am told. i have never had an issue on mine, I however rarely use the clutch when upshifting......Aftermarket rearsets have beens said to fix the issue on the 04....one of the bike magazines recommended the Attack Rearsets....

the bike is an 05 model. It only happens when getting on her. She has about 250miles on her, i'm thinking its because she is still a virgin and needs to get worked in. I will give it until about 1000miles, and if the problem still persists I will take her in. Has anyone else felt this problem with their new bike???

Most likely you have the shifter up too high. Although you think it is comfy it is probably making you bend your foot too much. You would be surprised how quickly your foot comes to the end of its stroke and how little strength it has. Also footwear will hamper movement. Just adjust it down and give it a rip.
