Poll Question: Poll: Will the ZX-14 thread pass the ZX-10R thread??
Wow... watching them edge closer together I wonder if the 14 release will pass the 10R release?
This morning the 14 release ( http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=27&TID=19095&set_time= ) is just over 21,000 views while the 10R release ( http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=23&TID=18743 ) is just over 21,500 views ...
Interesting! We didnt think the 14 would "pass" the 10 on the site, but it sure seems to be closing in on it!
So.. I'm going to mirror this poll into both the 10 and the 14 sections
Let the 10 vs the 14 begin!
Which topic will take over the "Most Popular Thread" position in the forums index??
Poll Results:
10 votes (30%)
The ZX-10R!
23 votes (70%)
The ZX-14!

The 14, but I'm voting that way only because of the information you provided of it already being so close.
If not for that information, I would not have expected it.
I have to wonder, are total average daily views markedly up now compared to when the 10R release was posted?
If so, then perhaps greater number of views in general helped put the 14 release over the top, if it goes over the top.

it would be real nice if Kawasaki had 1 at the prostar finals in November.

the 14 will be come more popular i think . the 10 is already out and what little changes they made wont draw it as much attention as the 14 will get due to it being a brand new model

Could happen, isn't that what they did with the 12 in 1999? Rickey Gadson ran some badass numbers on that bike, before Kawasaki neutered it before release.

...I think the 14 has a broader appeal to the 'average' rider than the road-race tilted 10R....and its an 'all-new' bike...far away different than the 12R it would seem...more like a reincarnated ZX-11 which the faithful big-bore Kawasaki fans coveted and haven't seen since 2000...a do-it-all bike in the right hands...the light-in-weight 10R is what the corner jockeys bending the 12R around a corner wanted all along...
...not everyone can corner a 10R puck down like a Hayden, but more 'average' riders will be able to point a 14 down a straight line, get under the paint, and shoot it straight....not as well as some of our average practiced drag racers, of course ...
...the 14 is like a 'newstalgia' musclecar....everything that is 'old' is 'new' again!...I wonder what the ZX-14R will look like and what its numbers will be?

Kawasaki has released their final (claimed) horsepower and torque specs for their highly anticipated ZX-14 sportbike. Many media outlets had expected Kawasaki to claim 200hp for the ZX-14, but Kawasaki defied expectations - the published specs are 187hp and 113.5lb-ft of torque, with 197hp when the ram-air system is in effect.
So the ZX-14 may not quite reach the magic 200hp mark, but how will it perform? Keep your eye on MD to see our 'First Ride' of the ZX-14 in late March.

14 will it be. At this time, it seems it will be more dominant in it's class. The new 10 will have to work harder to edge out the '05 gixxer, if it ever will.
