6R and 10R vs. Vette and 589 HP Skyline
Anyone read this? Speed mag.
Buttonwillow Raceway. Cort Wagner and Doug Chandler.
The '05 6R and '05 Vette are stock, the 10R has carbon fiber fairing (no lights), Ohlins front/rear, rearsets, SS brakelines, full Muzzy/PC, and race tires. The Skyline, well, it puts down 589 rear wheel HP through all four race slicks and has chassis mods to match.
Best laps:
Vette: 127.12 seconds
Skyline: 118.82
6R: 116.50
10R: 113.00
They said that if Wagner had had his Porsche Cup car (a car he's familiar with), the results might have been different (Chandler uses that 10R for track class). Also, they mentioned that "the bikes traveled a shorter distance around the same track."
Not a bad article, better than your average car vs. bike vs. jet fighter. I'm surprised the 6R did so well against a 600 HP car, in a car magazine.

I'm surprised they didn't get a common tard to ride the bikes. Good job.

a car is like riding a couch;
BUT A BIKE!, a bike is like riding a hundred-and-fifty untamed, steel-braided, fire-breathing, carbon-fiber, tarmac-tearing, sadistic hell-horses who's one desire is to drag your soul by its grinding knee-pucks down the jagged, bumpy cliffs of hell--there is nothing more satisfying!

I read the ariticle a while back and the deck was stacked against the cars. Even the magazine stated that Chandler was a god and featured a shot of him sliding it sideways and the front wheel aloft.

The biggest issue isn't the power of the Vette, it's weight. I was talking to Doug about some other stuff this morning and he said the same thing. Even if he was in the car, it still would have basically been the same result. Now if it was a GTP type Vette or Trans Am style, it would be a completely different story.
