Passengers on your 10?
This is Mrs. Simon (yup Simple Simon's wife posting here). So you all are saying No Way not a passenger, Get Yer Own! I'm not a good four wheel driver so I can only imagine a wild woman on two wheels, plus not interested in one more vehicle for oil changes, tires, insurance, etc. (Husband was thinking about purchasing an older model Interceptor VFR 750 for my comfort, but come on, a ZX10 in the garage, you really think I wanna go away on the "other" bike!) We eliminate the so-called handle on the passenger seat as it is just down right annoying and we took the seat to an upholstery shop to be bumped up in the front (take a look at stock seat/sliding board). So it's better, and I try to be a good passenger, but he can still feel when I am uncomfortable. Knees kinda ache from pushing myself back, I like to sit like a bird on a perch instead of boobs in back because two full face helmets cramp me until my neck hurts. Plus high pegs put alot of pressure on my heel. No I'm not normally a hypochondriac, but just sharing all the cons ( you know all the pros so I won't take the time to list those). Always want to have a sport bike so anyone have handy hints, suggestions, what works best for your passenger? Please don't suggest, "Stay at home," I'd rather not hear that.

Its really tough. We've (girlfriend and i) had pretty good luck with her holding 1 hand on my jacket or shoulder, and the other holding the strap thing on the rear seat. As far as rear pegs go it should be easy to cure. If you know of a machine shop in town you could probably get some plates made to drop the rear pegs a bit. I'd say an inch or less wouldnt look stupid. Other than that, I just dont think its a passenger friendly bike.
Speaking of a VFR750. I traded mine in for this, and did I catch hell for it. We rode from MA to SC on that and were more tired from being sleepy, than sore from the bike.
Did reupholstering the seat help at all? I was considering it. And possibly getting a more "grippy" fabric on it.

Hey Mrs. Simon....I know you don't want to hear this, but seriously, get your own bike.....I too was a passenger for years on hubby's bike, and finally I got pissed off enough (for the same reasons you have given) and went out a took a course, got my license, and got a bike......that, my friend, was the best thing I could have done......not only is it WAY more fun to ride your own bike, but hubby find's it much more enjoyable too...(riding two up is never an easy or comfortable task for the driver). We now enjoy the sport together, sharing not only the ride, but the "talk" as well.......
