Just be careful where you lift when putting "it" on a rear stand.

If wondering approximately what the bike might look like with a conventional exhaust, here's a REALLY crude chop of it with a C1-model pipe pasted on:

People hated the 05 Gixxer 1K exhaust .. now that bike is mopping up on the track.... perhaps we are seeing something similar from KHI?

Actually I think the new swingarm is very very nice, once the distraction of the underseat exhaust is gone. I wish I had that swingarm for my bike, rather than the JMC that still hasn't arrived.

"2 exhausts for the price of one!"

Or,the other side of the coin>> twice as expensive when you go aftermarket?

First: The belly pan and exhaust looks like shit.

Second: The headlights couldn't look any more queer if they painted the bike pink and put a naked man with a dildo up his ass on it.

Third: Thank heavens I bought a black '04

What's really gonna suck is the first time i lose to one of those things on the street. It's gonna be like losing a fight with Richard Simmons.

Hey come on!!! The bike looks good! The front end is different - yes but it's better to be different than a copy! I'm not a fan of underseat exhaust either but from the marketing point You have to have one if You want to sell more. And that ZX10 underseat looks better to me because it's a little different - the mufflers aren't as integrated and are more open. That should also be better for them to cool down too so they won't give You that much heat to the bottom (like R1 with even aftermarket exhaust). Those motogp bellyban exhausts just won't work good in street because You don't have enough space to make the exhaust quiet enough to pass the EPA and such. And the modifications to the engine - who argues with more hp:s And all that with even better FI mapping and more linear powercurve? Adding flywheel mass sound to many thinking "old" as a bad thing but it really isin't robbing You much power. But it makes the bike better to handle. It was like with ZX12 A and B model. And then they even say that the bike is lighter than the previous and gets a analog tach and Öhlins steering damper - what more You could ask for?

Just give it time and i think i'll grow to like the new look, maybe not as much as the old one, but u know. All in all the bike is pretty bad ass, the only thing u have to do to it now is change the stock pipes, thats it. Steering damper and intergrated tail lights are stock now so hey 2 thumbs up there. Just wait for the hp and top speed numbers to be released, then u wont be complainin about those damn head lights

Yes, especially given Kawasaki's press release, it pretty clearly is. And apparently somehow will have these blinkers, amazingly enough.

To me the only thing that looks bad is that exhaust and the bellypan. Wonder if a C model bellypan would fit?

Does this make it better? (Tough crowd!!!!!!!)

Ya know if Kawasaki releases that it has 20 HP than all bets are off and everyone will fall in love. It's something how 20 HP will make a man look right past a little ugly!

They do say it has the same torque (I assume they mean peak torque) as the ZX-RR MotoGP bike.

That ain't bad BMEP.

Obviously opinions differ but (at least in the pic about 4 posts above, heck I'll put it below also so easier to find) once that bellypan and pipe are swapped out, looks better to me than the C model. And, of course, there are better-looking pipes than that stock one, so even more improvement than the above is possible.

I have no objection to the projector headlights. My guess is in person they will be viewed much more favorably than in the pictures.

I don't mind the look of the 06. I actually like it. I think the tail is a little busy but if you consider the size of the catalytic/can on the GSX1000R, Kawasaki took that and split it in two and put them undet the seat. I guess EPA needs the volume in the exhaust system (for sound and emissions) and the designers have to work with that. And with the twin exhaust setup not covered in plastic, leaves a lot more freedom for the aftermarket companies to produce something nice.

And the cut out in the belly pan, maybe to draw heat away from the collector?

The front end has a softer look to it, more rounded. Not as angular as some other bikes which seems to be a trend. Maybe Kawasaki is starting there own trend.
