Walker "The Stalker" Testing all new ZX 10 R?!?

This just in from Mptorcycle Daily!:

"It has happened more than once that a WSB racer has discussed testing of a new model before the factory has officially released any information. Chris Walker, and members of his WSB team, have been discussing the new 2006 ZX-10R that will form the basis for a Kawasaki superbike next year. Walker is reportedly testing the "new bike" this week in Japan (there is no WSB race this week).

This would seem to confirm rumors that the 2006 Kawasaki ZX-10R, although just two years old, will be dramatically changed versus the current model. We should know for certain next month when Kawasaki officially announces the bike."

SOUNDS INTERESTING!! "D

OK, we knew that Kawasaki said there would be an all-new supersport for 2006.

And we knew that it made almost no sense that that could be the ZX-6R, since the 2005 was all-new.

So that left either an all-new 10R or all-new 12R.

Given your above info, I'll put my money now on it being an all-new 10R.

It is also a smart business decision: the market for the literbikes is far bigger, the Hayabusa is not being updated for 2006, but not only was the Gixxer made all-new for 2005 but the 10R did not completely crush the competition: in fact some magazines deemed other bikes their preferred choice.

So I would guess there's a lot more business reason to putting out an all-new, all-killer ZX-10R for 2006 than doing an all-new ZX-12R.

it's quite simple really! All superbi
es inly have a 2 year lifespan. with the usual 2nd year 'revision'. so that makes a new 10, r1, blade and even gsxr600. meaning that next year its the k5's turn to once again play catch up to the rest of the class. but not in racing cos they will have had a whole year of development under their belt. mind you, we don't quite know the extent of changes coming up next year.
