Overfilled?

I was checking out the bike, and noticed that there were some traces of oil on the right side of the motor. I tracked them up to the top of the rear of the motor. Took the gas tank off and airbox out, but would have to take the throttle bodies out to see any more. Then checked out the oil window and it was completely full. Hmm...

Drained the old oil and put in 2.9 qts of Mobil 1. No filter change as there weren't that many miles on the last change.

Question is, has anyone else seen any seepage off the motor if it is overfilled?

Hmmmmmmm

I have the 10r motor in a race car. The motor is installed at a different angle then when in the bike so figuring the correct oil level has been a bit of an experiment. I have an external oil cooler so I can't use the factory suggested oil amount. I seem to also have the condition you describe. I'll see if I can see where it starts as the motor is a bit more out in the open in the car.

Thanks. I'll watch it myself, see if the seepage returns.
