Need PPG "Candy Thunder blue" code
I tried using the code 235 but its not in their data base. The Kawi colors are listed by names in the PPG system. I need to know a name or code. Thanks

PPG didn't have a code for mine. I had mine matched by photo analysis, then test-spray-out.
When I get home, I'll see if I can find the pigment/base info on the receipts. Otherwise, I can call the shop tomorrow (closed Mondays).
Mine was a pretty good match. But the f'ing clear is tough to work with over the candy mid coats. BTW, mine was 7 coats of mid over two of base... be prepared to spend some time with this paint.

They pasted the codes on the Southwestern Bell Yellow can and the Black can.
I will have to call for the others tomorrow - and now I'm semi-ticked at them.

They're calling the shop where the guy who matched the paint's at, and will see if they can get the pigments, bases, and weights for me.
This seems a tad unprofessional. I asked the guy how I'd match paint when I needed a repair... he said they'd repeat the photo and spray-out. Huh.

Okay, I got off the phone with them.
Answer is: I ordered it as a candy paint. It's a custom color, one-off. The guy who did the match did not keep track of how much midcoat he took from the can, nor how much tint he added, each time he did a spray-out. And the base was tinted - blue in a DBC silver base, and he didn't keep track of how much tint he dropped in it, nor di he even start with a full pint.
They'll be happy to do a match with a two-part - tinted metallic base and clear - but you can do that at your local PPG shop (carquest?), too.
So... I've got a really good deal in custom paint, but this shop doesn't want to try to rematch this three-part candy (no, I didn't piss them off, they just don't want to take the time it took again). I'll have to try another PPG shop when I need to repaint, or live with a two-part system.
If I crash hard enough that I need to paint the tank, I'll go with a two-part system.
Sorry, man, I thought I could help.

Color-Rite is $67 a half-pint for each coat, and you'll need a half-pint of base, a pint of mid (they call it top), and a pint of clear ($36).
Plus reducer ($18), and catalyst (didn't see on their webpage), plus plasticizer for the mid (may not need if they only have you spray one or two coats of mid).
Looks like about $220 plus shipping.
For comparison - I bought all three parts of the blue, yellow (numberplates), black and flattener, high-temp reducer, catalyst, plasticizer - all for $206 including tax, from the local PPG place.
