HP......

I know HP isnt everything, but for those of you that have had your bikes on the dyno, what kind of numbers are you getting....I am curious as to where my bike stands in the lot. I know numbers vary as much as the dynos they were run on, but I am still curious.....

My Black 04 turned 155.6 HP on a DJ 250 @ about 2500 ft elevation. Only performace mod done to the bike is an Area P Extreme Slip-On. Still running the stock filters and was using 92 octance pump gas.

Thanks for the input....

153.2 on pump fuel. Everything stock except Area P Slip-On of course .
160.9 on MR9.

Dynojet 200i. 100' above sea level. Setting - SAE, Smoothing 3. These settings are the more important factors, since changing to "STD" as many do, will show 3 - 4 hp more. Same with adjusting the smoothing up or down, it will add or subtract the peak hp number. And of course a whole bunch of other factors as well can change the peak numbers. But those things aside, it's all good!

My buddy had his 02 GSXR1K dynoed at the same time and his bike turned 147.9 HP with a Mig slip on, Teka program, TRE mod, BMC filters, and using U4 gas. So I am pretty happy, but am shooting fpor 160 on pump gas. Squezing out 4 or 5 HP shouldnt be too hard.....I HOPE....lol

Is the Area P Extreme better than the Area P Regular?

The Extreme will put out slightly more peak power with its larger core and shorter muffler. It is also lighter since it's 3 inches shorter (shorter core, less packing, etc.). It's also louder. Not sure I'd say it's "better". Just depends what you are looking for. The core is the biggest difference: 2.375", compared to 2" (although you can get the large core in the 18" muffler as well). Most people are purchasing the Extreme version, probably more-so for the shorter muffler style which is getting more popular. I personally run the 18" muffler with the 2.375" core, because the longer muffler helps quiet it down when using the large core (keeps the neighbors happy...).

My neighbors know us as the muffler people. My ZX-9R with a Muzzy slip-on was loud. (sold). My Toyota 4x4 had a header and a Flowmaster 40 series LOUD. (wrote off). Now it's the Wifes CBR with the D&DMOTO GP LOUD. The Yoshi I had on my 10 was moderate. I will see what my Area-P is like..

Oh I forgot to mention this is on a Honda 1000RR with Micron Serpent pipe and PC with non-custom map for pipe. All else stock. Pump Gas. 1700miles on the clock.

I dunno. Had my bike on three tracks now with no brake issues. Homemade lines, a Brembo MC and plain Jane Dot4 fluid. I'm on my 2nd set of stock pads. Maybe if you went faster they would start working?
