Tall rider looking at new literbikes

Anyone 6' plus have any feedback about ergo's on the newer liter bikes especially the 10R? I'll be picking a new ride up this year and love the 10R, but I'm 6'5" and a little concerned about the tight seating. Any comments welcome. Thanks.

I'm 6'4 and i find if very roomy.
But be warned some might say'" You'll look like you'll have a roller skate stuck up your ass".

Hmmm, you might want to think about a zx12 or a Busa if you want a more comfortable fit. My 10R's stock pegs, clips, etc are a perfect fit for me but I'm 5'9''. I would think with all the after market resets you could get nicely tucked onto one if you really wanted to.

I am 6' 4" 220lbs and own a 2004 10r.

I previously owned a 2002 ZX-7R

I have good friends who own a total of a 2004 R1, a 2004 Ducati 999, a 2003 RC 51, and a 2004 Gixxer 1000 and I've ridden each one at different points in time, here's my impression.

Gixxer 1000 - Felt lower and wider, the gas tank feels huge, its not a bad riding position but its a little tight between the knee and the hand when hitting the stoppers turning. My biggest complaint/issue about the gixxer as far as comfort is concerned is that the side front fairings are designed such that as a tall guy, every time I put my feet down, I hit this corner on the fairings with my shin/leg. I wasn't interested in having bruises up and down my leg from it, or having it slam into my shin/knee should I have a mishap. Seat was pretty comfortable but felt a little wide.

R1 - Pretty comfortable, nose dove quite a bit under breaking and as a tall guy, it made you feel like you were going to flip over the bars. Seat was decently comfortable, although the shape of it felt kinda funny.

Ducati 999 - Took a little getting used to because its even more narrow feeling than the 10R. The first few times riding it, I was nervous about puling my knees in as far as they would go because you feel like you're going to put your knees on the engine and burn yourself. My knees/legs tucked nicely under the tank, had no obvious problems with the fairings and overall, aside from a concrete seat it was pretty comfortable. Expensive.

Honda RC 51 - I ALLLLLMOST bought this bike instead of the 10R because they handle so nicely. I was sitting on the bike at the dealership and thinking about it. My knees do not tuck into the curvature of the gas tank neatly unless I am on the balls of my feet on the pegs and that gets really uncomfortable on an hour commute to work. The fairings were a tad intrusive, but not bad, and really, the bike is pretty comfortable save the concrete seat. I just couldn't see paying $11,000 for something that wasn't perfect.

ZX10 - Comfortable. My knees sit perfect against the frame, the tank is comfortable, my knees fit in and tuck nicely, I feel like I have room to move/breathe, and the ONLY issue I've had ergonomically is that my high mount aftermarket pipe sweeps up too sharply behind the peg and has roasted a couple of shoe soles.

IMHO, you should go around to a lot of dealerships and sit on all of the options for long periods of time, both feet on the pegs and decide which is most comfortable for you personally. That's the best bet.

Peace

6'6" 270 lbs here

love the bike. light and nimble with alot of power. Comfy riding posture. grips are closer than on my old '97 9R and was the only thing to get used too.
