What happens if you eliminate the Valve Actuator?
What happens if you eliminate the Valve Actuator?
I was fartin around with the 10 and was wondering if this would mess up the computer as I have it hooked up but not attached to anything. As I have a Ackropovick pipe on. I tried to find this in the archives but found zip. Anybody tried this? I hate unnesssecary items on my bike.

Me too.
I'm waiting for someone in the know to tell me I can yank the whole system without losing any power. It's already lacking in that department.

If you just remove the cables... nothing. If you dissconnect the unit at the plug, I believe the FI light comes on or you'll get some sort of error code. I have not heard of any method to actually remove the unit and to "trick" the ECU (like using jumper wires or such) into thinking it is still there.

Too bad us Kawi riders tend towards the shallow end of the gene pool. Other makes have had some clever owner sort these things out already. Oh well, at least we have swft to tell us the obvious.

redlek is correct, if you unplug the unit the FI light activates. Ivan is working on a fix.

I guess I'm the only one thinking "Wow this thing is fast! No need for modifications here" I'm just going to hang my head low and sneak out the back door now.

That's what I was wondering, after you put your pipe on, what do you do with the vave and cables? Do the cables come off closer to the seat? Or do you just zip tie everything up ,nice and neat? Cat.

Pull the cover just forward of the p seat and you will see the actuator and cable ends. From there it should be easy to remove the cables completely.

Go ahead and unplug/remove the actuator. The FI light will flash but the ECU won't care. I have the valve section of the exhaust removed on my 10R powered race car and the performance has not suffered. Pulls to 12.5 no problem.

The ECU will go into failsafe mode (richen the mixture across the board) if i'm not mistaken.
