DSM 320 and MotoGP Bliss... While I was on vacation, I helped a friend set up a D-Link DSM320. This is a neat lil box that allows you to play any media on your PC (pics, audio, video) over your TV/Stereo. It costs bout $150 (with the rebate) and looks like a piece of stereo gear. It's either wireless (802.11G) or uses cat 5 ethernet to connect to your network. It plays most audio formats, and plays mpg1/2 and divx formats for video. I was hoping it would play wmv, and that may happen in the future, but for now, I'm happy converting my collection of videos from wmv to divx. I'll have the entire 2004 season converted by the end of today, and will be able to sit back and watch them on the bigscreen. I've put PCs out in the living room before, but the picture was always iffy at best, due to the svideo output from the video card, and the trouble finding the best resolution. The DSM320 comes with composite, svideo, and component video output. Audio outputs include RCA, PCM Coax, and Optical. BTW, it *will* play VOBs for those peeps that are ripping DVDs to disk...

Yes, got Faster. And no way the Dorna .wmv files can compete with DVD. Rez alone (320 x 240 vs 720 x 480) gives the nod to a real DVD.
