My advice would be to make sure where ever you take it their dyno is equipped w/ an eddy brake load control & an air/fuel ratio monitor. Without those 2 components you cannot tune F.I. Believe it or not there are shops w/o those components telling customers they can dial in their PC's. You can tell your tuner what it is you are looking for, pure power,no MPG concerns or you can tell him for example: I drive to work daily & do about 75mph in 6th gear for the better part of 50 mile commute.
Can you map that area leaning on MPG's as opposed to uncompromised power setup.

Whadaya mean it's not like me? All I do is twist people's tits. I still think dyno tuning is largely overrated. I'll bet half the people with PC's would gain performance by unplugging them. Any takers?

BOV,
could it be that you have never actually had anyone tune your bike on a Dyno? or is it that the person you used didn't know the front end from the back end.
My old man used to tell me of the days when he would carry a pocket full of jets and a plug spanner, go like buggery along a road stop and check the plug colour then change the jets accordingly up or down.
50 years later things are a little more sophistocated, on all my bikes over the years I have only used one guy for Dyno work and I am betting he is the real reason why my bikes went so well.
If the operator hasn't got a clue might as well get that pocket full of jets and a plug spanner!

Please tell me you are kidding right? Have you ever had a bike dyno-tuned? Do you have any mods on your ZX10? If yes, could you post them & tell me how you set your bike up to correct the fuel mix to optimize those mods. I'am hoping to learn something from you that could possibly be ground-breaking to the industry.
To think I might have wasted 40K on my dyno &the room around it. When I could've just signed on and been enlightened to your tuning process.
Anxiously awaiting your response!

You know all those top fuel guys don't use a dyno. Dyno's are worthless. Right. That's why there were invented. How do you think Kawasaki built the most powerful sportbike? The one this site revolves around.

Right, top fuel guys do a dyno tune and then go pat themselves on the back. No need for further performance testing, since the dyno tells all. Does that about sum it up?
