Steve, I don't know of anyone that has switched to Brembo components on thier 10R. After working on numerous race bikes with Brembo's front brake radial master cylinder, I know that it is the very next addition I plan on making to my 10R. The only other choice I might make is to use one from the '05 636/6RR, depending on the cost difference and if they are similar in design (piston size, lever travel, etc.).

The R1 piece is a Brembo similar enough to the cast aftermarket unit as to be indistinguishable by most mortals. Sorry but I've no details on the piston or pivot dimensions. By the way redwings, what exactly is the stock 10R unit doing that has you so frustrated? I ride on Palomar's S6, a downhill run with 66 turns in 7 miles and a 2,500' elevation drop. If there was a problem with my stock brakes I'd know it. They are a bit numb and lacking in feedback at the extreme, but rubber lines and stock steel rotors are like that. That said, the consistency and consequent predictability of their performance tends to trump that shortcoming. If you'd like I can UPS red some Chatta out to you. That should make it all better.

Hey contact this guy, Krazy1, on the zx-10r.net forum. He's got a Brembo radial master on his bike.

bovine - my riding skills hardly warrant such a modification, but even my 12R had better feedback and less lever travel. Braided lines, removal of the heat plates behind the pads and Castorol SRF all made an improvement, but its still lacking the firmness I'm used to. I'd rather have "that old feel" then "adjust my riding" to compensate.
It's not really a poser thing, even though I have been referred to as the "Mayor of Poserville" on more than one ocassion. I don't care if it has Brembo or Yamaha or anything stamped on it. I am also a far cry for being the fastest guy on the block (or neighborhood... or city...), but I know I'd be more confident in my riding if I had "that old feeling" back. It's just the way I am.

Silly, your assuming that I have a clue what "chatta" is. Trolling the "ignorant" requires simple minded bait.

Jokee: I haven't a clue what chatta is.
Joker: Chatta fuck up!

I've never used one, but the general concensus is the AP mc sucks. I've used AP rotors and calipers and they suck compared to Brembo, so I would tend to believe the AP mc sucks as well. If it says "made in England," you are most likely better off without it. Just my personal experience.

Never used one so I can't tell you. When I was shopping for a mc everyone I asked, including the US AP distributor at the time, told me it was a piece of shit. A quick perusal of the paddock at any significant roadracing event would tend to back that up. 99.9% of the clipons have a Brembo bolted to them. Another thing, when I shitcanned my top line, billet AP calipers for a set of cast oem style Brembos, it was like a light came on. The performance was so much better in so many ways I suddenly understood why damn near everyone at the top level uses Brembo, and almost nobody uses AP.

Looks to me last time they were on anybody's shiznit race machine was 2001. Eons ago - and only on one team - Ducati - which, in case you didn't notice, uses Brembo on both production machines and their race bikes (MotoGP included).
So I'm not sure what you are basing that comment on but I'd like to hear more.
Oh, and the Brembos ARE adjustable.
I guess it's just a nice way to say: BULLSHIT, fuck face!
Love ya! Mean it!
