Wind doesn't seem to make that much difference at Streets. At Big Willow it can kick up so much dust the bottom half of your bike will have all the paint sandblasted off it.

Doesn't really matter. Fontana is a lot closer and a little more enjoyable on a big bike as you can really stretch it out compared to Willow (Streets). Then again, Streets is probably funnier overall. The big track is even better. Kinda take your chances on the wind coming up at Willow.
Fontana normally doesn't have that problem. You also have a lot of runoff room after the high speed sections (Fontana). So if you get in over your head, you won't end up on your head..... You get garages at Fontana which is nice. Just a whole different "professional" feeling running at a big open Super Speedway. Better choice if you run the AMA Track.

Then again, Willow might be interesting in February to watch "D". Maybe we can break in the new trailer and carpool up there. Stay in touch.

I'm there and have a coupla buddies goin with me.

Be gentle, it'll be my first time.

I don't think KB could go that slow in hi sleep but it would be great ta get some pointers from an "elder'.

Well,

I should have a (real) trackbike by then - Feb - though no one local has committed to the drive out (yet). I have hopes for Sunday' morning's canyon run to get commitment.

So - D - which organization did you sign up with? Which day? [edit -duh, I just read upthread] I'll go ahead and commit myself - pay, I mean - and if anyone comes from Phoenix with me, OK.

D - For a "streetbike" if you're doing 40's, you'll be doing A-OK. If you're breaking into the 30's, awesome job! If you dip into the high to mid 20's, no more free lessons for you and the gloves come off........

Oh and most important, keep the rubber side down at all costs. When in doubt, slow her down and screw trying to impress anyone but yourself. Sometimes going fast isn't actually all that much fun if you're teetering on the edge of control. Exciting yes. Fun? Not sure if thatz the way I would describe it.... It can be fun up to the point of a mistake or impact. Boy then the fun goes away pretty quickly..... It's a rush, exciting, and sometimes terrifying all wrapped into one. I think the "fun meter" is based on how much effort you're excerting and/or how close to the edge you're riding.

Either way, can't wait to see ya on the big track! Hold onto your butt going into 8 (well, if your man enough to still be wfo in 6th... ).

Hey XL!!!!! If you're reading this you spode. Remember, lessons are still free to you.......
