OT: Son of a bitch!

Well...He is one, after all...

Took the old guy into the vet's yesterday. After two hours, got referred to the 24-hour Critical Care facility. He ain't doing so well, but we have (several tests later) kinda sorta ruled out his heart. Still gotta figure out what the heck is going on, so they kept him overnight to get some fluids into him and possible referral to a place that can do the sonigrams, etc. Maybe the broad spectrum antibiotics will kick in and knock the white blood cell count down...Sucks, as I have been trying to get ready for this trip down to CA all week with no luck.

*laughs* Yah, the fuck of it all is that while I'm trying to check on the dog, I'm onsite with an important customer, trying to upgrade their systems and migrate over to new systems. Bout 16TB of data swinging around. The sales team sold them the wrong shit, even after I told them what they needed, and we are scrambling trying to get the right shit to them so we can keep going...What a fucking mess!

In any case, they found some crap in his gut that could have been causing a blockage, and removed a mass about the size of a kiwi fruit near his gut. Last I checked, he was recovering from the surgery and they'll get biopsies done hopefully this weekend, if not by early next week. He's gonna be in there for the rest of the weekend for sure.

Dogs are special creatures. I lost both of my old Labs within three weeks of one another last year, and I'm still torn up about it. Best of luck with yours.

No word bout the biopsy yet, but he was MUCH better. Got up and came over to me, was real happy to see me. He's bout a hundred times better than he was this weekend. Hoping he comes out of ICU tomorrow. I'll be heading down to CA on wednesday, so things are definately looking up right now.

Very good.........I bet he WAS happy to see you. Bet he can't wait to get home.........

14 years I had my yellow Lab. He went everywhere with me. In the truck, to the track, everywhere.....haven't got over him yet. Maybe one of these days we will get another little Lab furball.

Glad to see you take such good care of your friend swft.........kudos.......

Thanks man. Called and talked with the Vet today. He's outta ICU, in regular boarding. Eating good, off the IV, poop'n and piss'n like a champeen. They'll maintain his meds while he's being boarded there, so all I have to do is show up and pay the bill when I get back.
