lost it in a corner on a cold day...then we hit the yellow marker sign. I think the only thing that saved the tank ( not a mark on it ) was my leg. The seat has a clean cut through from the steel shaft of the sign. So I am lucky I wasn't chopped in half I guess If I can get some pics hosted I will post later...if I can stop crying when I look at her..j/k

I hear what you are saying :
"well I knew it was coming...."

I've got one corner I push a bit more with each passing week.

I used to say, "It's a good thing winter comes.".

Winter tends to reset things and slow me back down.

That sucks but as long as your doing ok. You can always fix a bike or get a new one but body parts are hard to come by.

cold days are usually asking for it, i dumped my dam gsxr 1000 going 15 mph at the most in a corner. barely even leaned the bike over knowing it was 45 degrees out and even going super slow the dam front end just left me. The dam thing ended up totalled. them bikes dont crash well. I race my dam bike all year on the track and lose it doing nothing on the street. cold tires-cold pavement no good.

This is a good point to bring up actually. I have the same problem of driving faster as the summer gets longer on your favorite twistys. You need to realize that sooner or later if you keep getting faster and faster bad stuff will happen most likely if you really start pushing it. I find myself sliding my bike and balling my tires up big time which sounds great but sooner or later you crash. on the street you need to hold back a little when you know that your pushing your bike pretty hard. Its hard to do sometimes, I speak from plenty of experience. remember its better to be a little bit slower on the street than to have a wrecked bike or body

Ouch! Speaking of Yellow Marker mid-corner; believe it was 15 months ago. About 30 plus sportbikes heading out for a ride to Hooters to watch Two Wheel Tuesday. Knuckleheads started rolling hard, very hard! One guy I saw in the fast group, I knew he can't ride at that speed...I pulled back and waited for the 2 guys with me to catch. We slowed down and continued in same direction as the group. About 8 minutes later we came around a hard left hander. 12 or so riders walking around fanatically telling on coming traffic to slow down, cell phones to ear. That one guy who is better off riding MUCH SLOWER, had left the road mid-corner, bike cut the yellow marker post in half. Bike on hill across ditch, rider in ditch.

Well, 15 months later, he's still trying to regain use of an arm and shoulder. He was close to death. Ruptured lung, broke arm, screwed up shoulder. Weird thing is another rider behind us several miles also went down, same day same ride. we had all started out together.

Morel of story - ride slower on public roads and choose wisely who you ride with. I'm glad you'll recover. For your on sake guys, be careful out there. I enjoy reading what each of you say here and don't want to say good by to any of you,
-lukn
P.S. That was my last ride before my tour to Korea, I neded that year to slow my arse down.
