Throttle stop in first?
Does anyone here get to it?
As soon as I get it into Second I hit the stop but I have never been able to hit it in First.
What do you all do?

Yes I have not held it full-throttle in First gear.
I was wondering how many people can do that here.

I can ;and with 15 tooth front sprocket 41 tooth rear; goes like crazy and hardly wheelies now...
Did I mention my 7 inch swingarm extension and lowered 2 inches front and back?? I think that helps some...

Have fun;ride safe.

Big differences -
I can - rolling it on from real low rpm.
I can't - whacking it open from 6 or 7000 rpm in 1st gear. Have to roll out of it until the wheel comes down to a manageable height....

Ha HA.
I have that setup sitting here waiting to be installed (15,41) but not the swingarm.
I think that might make a bit of difference.
As far as hitting it down low, yea I could probley do that too but what happens when the bike gets to 9K?
Do yo still hold it or back off?
I do not see how someone could whack it in first and hold it without lowering the bike.
I am 200lbs and keep my nuts on the tank and think mabey I get to 3/4 throttle in first.
Keep the info coming in as as am interested.
My problem could be fear. (I don't think so)

Just roll off a bit when the front comes up too high for your skills. No Problems
At first I was scared to peg it, now I do it all the time. WARNING : it is more addicting than a drug...

Sealevel ain't the same.
If I held it wide open in first untill 12K I would be on my ass in the street watching the bike doing backflips.
As soon as I get it in Second I can peg it.

Colorado Springs - 6000'
From, dead stop - Pin the throttle and start letting the clutch out.
Lock clutch at ~9 grand - ride to redline - no wheelie.
(usually)

Start with steady throttle control, and just let up on the acceleration a bit as you get higher in the rpm range. You can pegg it hard in first especialy at a dead stop, and keep it roaring until redline. Are you trying to drag the bike or just floor it in first.

If your trying to get a good launch without having the front come up as your giving it allot of gas, drag your clutch and keep your weight centered forward.

I use the rear brake to keep the front down and leave the throttle pinned.

no not for launching, just when the bike hit's 7-8k and lifts, touch the rear brake. if you want to launch the 10 lower it. it's not what the bike was made for but its your ride. if you want to really launch go to drag school.

I agree with the horsepower loss. Calgary Alberta, 3800 feet and first roll on from low rpm only floats front tire 20% of the time depending on body position.
