You have to see these pics of a ZX10R

I need some help.

I want to post some pics here for everyone to see but do not know where to host them.

Someone help me out. If you can host them I will email them to you.

Basically here is the deal with the pics.

They are from a member of stuntlife.com

He has a ZX10R as well.

He broke 2 frames at the neck from hard wheelies first.

He replaced the frame both times then got clipped by a truck.

you have to see the pictures. The frame broke like glass. It is in so many pieces that it doesn't make sense.

This guy was a big Kawi guy, he says he will never own one again.

Basically he says that Kawi has gone too far to make the bike light.

So who can help me?

Give me your email addy and I will send you the pics.

Thanks,
Crispin

Look at how thin the frame is.

I would not buy a wrecked zx10 as I do not think they could handle it well.

I know my frame would be in a million pieces if I were "clipped" by a truck. Looks more like T-boned by tractor trailer. Nobody said the 10 was the best motorcycle to crash for '04. Do that to any bike and find out what happens to those.

why are people surprised that a frame cracks at the neck from use as a stunt bike including repeated hard landings? sure bieks frmo past years have held up, but we all know there's a cost to making bikes lighter. and saying "they've gone too far" in making it lighter... since when are bikes designed for stunting?!? maybe i'll take my Daewoo econobox thru a monster truck course at my nearest stadium then bitch that it didnt hold up

See - all those frame sliders just plain suck.

Coulda just buffed out the scratches if it didn't have those dangerous sliders on.

There was some force applied there, too. The frame cracked at the rear engine mount, but tore between the steering head and throttlebodies.

Can't really make out what else was going on there.

I hope you don't really own a Daewoo

God point anyway.

However I do not expect my bike to crack from hard wheelies. A wheelie is something that the bike SHOULD be designed for.

Man, these stuntaz kill me!

I can't wait until the new Gixxer frames crack from doing stunts on a frame designed for rigidity and flex on the racetrack.

And, on that link D posted, the guy who said the 7R sucked... oh man...

It's a racebike fellaz, not a stuntbike...

And so once again the point is letz sue the manufacture and bad mouth them because of what appears to be a "faulty" product? I shouldn't be surprised, buy unfortunely, I am. Thankfully the rider is alive and relatively unharmed. I think Stunters are absolutley incrediably talented riders, and sometimes I wish I could do what they do. I have no idea if stunting had anything to do with this accident. But you really need to understand the dynamics of how this frame is/was designed.

Having thin wall material does not necessarily have a correlation to a frame being "weak or strong". The frame's primary design is intended for sport/canyon/roadracing; which as we all know can put tremendous stress' to it. I'm not too sure about the drag race crowd, but I would think the loads would not be dramatic, at least in the main frame area (but maybe more so through the swingarm/pivot area??). But to my knowledge, they aren't designed with "side impact" in mind like a car...

As far as the steering head issues that he's experienced, there's just not enough information to render a logical comment on. But I would offer that if you were continually coming down hard on it from a great distance, and possibly doing so while being a big guy sitting on the bars (high-chair), I could imagine the forces put in this area....

THat is a mess. I stunt my 7 like crazy. It has just recently been converted to a full stunt bike. THat thing has seen the ground more times than most peoples dirt bikes and is still good to go. None of these bikes are designed for stunting or taking on crashes. Everyone just keep that in mind when you start to bitch. It your on the track and something like this happens, then and only then, you can bitch. Otherwise, STUNT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Lets face it - most cars would be totalled when being hit by a truck at 55 mph.

The rider is alive is the only important fact here - after that, it's all opinion.

I posted this thread not as a "see how bad the frames are" or "that Kawis suck"

I posted it becaused I was amazed at the picture.
I was amazed that the rider was ok.
I was amazed at the destruction of the bike.
I was amazed at how the frame tore apart

I love my bike.
I know that it was not made to survive a hit from a truck.

I would like to see some pics of the previous frames that broke.
