Ping "D".. o/t Durango question...

d... question about my 2001 Durango .... so my exhaust is starting to smell like sulfor/ rotten eggs... I am wondering if that means that my cat is toast? If so is that covered by the powertain warranty?

Not to hijack....

Somewhat common "smell". May or may not mean something. I would think one of your sensor lights would come on like "service engine" if there was a problem. Though D can answer for sure, I believe the emission components, including the Cat, continue being covered after your basic warranty expires. Something like for 7 or 10 years on the newer stuff.

Believe me, if it's your cat making that smell, you don't want it back.

fish.... get rid of those freaking tree hugger filters... your 5.9 will love you for it. Go with some long tube headers into some 3" pipe all the way back to the rear tires.

Yes.... you can make your own too for cheap. Conventional round air type or cone type. Run the IAT away from a heat source.
If you run at the dragstrip..remove the air hat from the throttle body. gives ya 3mph and 2/10ths.
