A thought about the way people here deal with problems with products and companies...

I am wondering why members are dealing with problems with products (note the Muzzy shipping issue and the Muzzy slider issue) by getting on the Internet and flaming the company...

Isnt the normal procedure to call the offending company and ask to speak to the manager or someone? I know it's a no brainer, Muzzy posts here so you know you can get him online...

I also know that people have had probs in the past... but honestly.. .why dont people just pick up the phone and call and talk to someone in person instead of a bizarre round-about route like this?

Seems odd to me.. .more like people are fishing for the "extra good deal" or something by slamming them in public...

You know... even with all of the problems people report online about Muzzys... how many companies have the owner or the managaer actually respond immediately and tell the customer publically that they'll help you asap.

This whole thing just seems unproductive and personally, more than a little suspicious...

like I said, when I have a problem or a complaint, I call the comapny and ask to speak to who's in charge.. I dont write a letter to my local paper..

Why not try a real world approach next time? Have a problem... call the company, report... if yer not satisified then call back and kick it upstairs... if they tell you to pound sand then come and tell us... if they tell you they're gonna help you then give them a chance to... we'd all like to know how companies are doing but you have to give them a chance using "traditional" methods.

just a thought.

I take all internet complaints with a grain of salt. I have had nothing but good service from Muzzy's so I'll continue to use them. When you deal with thousands of orders per year, there are bound to be a few problems, just like when you manufacture thousands of motorcycles there are going to be a handful of problems. It's tough to get both sides of a story here at the forums so just go with what you know personally. An dats my .02!!

I can be the voice of dissent here then. As a consumer, I like to know which businesses provide quality service and which ones don't. Does that mean that because one person posts on an internet forum about a bad experience that I will not do businesss with that company? Of course not, however, if there are several similar stories that will definately affect my decision. The reverse is true if I hear alot of good things about a company. I tend to spend my cash(what little I have anyway) with companies that have good reputations.

madav8tr, i believe what fish is trying to say, is first try to work it out with the company, and if they're jsut dicks about it, THEN you rant on the net. if u'v been on the board for any amount of time, u'll know that fish rants about bad service as much as anyone, but it's always AFTER trying to work it out with the company and getting nowhere.
