What has Kawi done?
Kawi is promoting Akro on their website for the 10R...does this mean you dont void your warranty if you get one?
They have complete Akro systems, high compression gaskets, and ECU's.

"Use of unauthorized components and use of a vehicle in competition can affect a vehicle's warranty coverage."
Says that right under the part about it being illegal.

But are these select systems "authorized" since Kawi is selling them specifically for the 10?

The old voided warranty discussion again...
A vehicles warranty can not legally be "voided' because aftermarket parts or accessories are fitted.
A warranty claim for a specific failure can however be rejected if an aftermarket part or accessory CAUSED the failure. You could go on for days about this situation or that, here's a couple of simple examples:
1) Your non-OEM oil filter blows the seal and results in engine damage: Unless you have a very freindly dealer, this warranty claim will likely be rejectd.
2) You install an aftermarket exhaust system and shortly after, your fancy LED meter assy stops working: No dealer (or OEM) in their right mind would reject that claim.
The question is, could an aftermarket exhaust ever cause a failure of any kind? My opinion is no. How about an afermarket exhaust and an ECU or Power commander with a lean map? Maybe.

Aprilia sell loads of exhaust systems for their bikes, including matching Eproms, however if mounted warranty is out the window. Does not seem to bother anyone, 1 in 2 Mille owners has one of these pipes

Guys my stealership told me I would not lose warranty on an Akropovic can. They actually fitted it for me too! Also a Zero Gravity screen. Now it sounds and looks the biz and no more wind at the visor at 200kph. Wouldnt trade my 10 for anything!

So does anyone know the official stance of Corporate Kawasaki on all this? Anyone have to deal with them in regards to warranty issues where aftermarket parts may have caused a problem?

Look.. the bottom line is a manufacturer cannot deny you a warranty claim because you installed an exhaust or performance part.... DESPITE what some stupid dealers say.

Not trying to argue, just trying to understand....that said, why wont Kawi replace the stock canister on my 12. The warrant is suppose to keep the vehicle and its parts for the life of the warranty up to spec, and my exhaust (which is stamped 80dba) is producing over 110dba. Since there is no way to break rivets and repack it, I'm stuck with an exhaust that is getting too anoying. Dealer agreed with me, put it through, but Kawi said now. XL said yes, Kawi said no.

I dont know what to tell ya Beans except that maybe you accept no too easily? To be totally honest.... Id laugh at you too if you told me something like that about your muffler.
Maybe its time to where earplugs?
If you really wanted to push the issue.... have your state inspection or your local police issue you a ticket based on the excessive noise and approach the claim that way.
Besides the fact that you can get a low mileage or unused muffler for free from one of these boards just for asking. I know I had 6 stock systems hanging in my garage at 1 point I couldnt give away.
