What strikes me as odd is the fact that the guy has a feedback rating of 638. I'm wondering if he's just stupid.

Spoof Detection 101 Class is now open:
1) Notice it says "Will ship to US" - That means its an out of the country sale. Red Flag number one.
2) He has lots of feedback. Look at the feedback page, and click on an auction number on the right side. The first one is for fabric for making who knows what kind of neato things. Another one is for a denim shirt. What kinda guy who is selling a crotch rocket is going to sell fabric? Nobody I want to buy a bike from. This guy has hijacked someone elses identity.
The cheap price is a dead giveway.
I'll bet the farm this is a scam. The auction also will not go to term - he will end the auction after a day tops. He will Hook a few victims, end the auction, and then "sell" the bike. Also, he will most likely want to send you more money then the agreed upon bargain basement price, and have you send the remainder to a friend, most likely by western union. His cashiers check will be forged.

I thought the major givaway was that almost all of his replies are from denmark. He obviously has connections in the US but he doesn't live here. I would guess he fell on hard times and is pulling a scam because he knows he can't be prosecuted here. Just my quess. Anybody else want to give it a try!

Email him and tell him you want to purchase and you will pick the bike up in person he will pull the plug on the auction. I did that to another scammer on Ebay, that had hijcked someone elses id.He shut the auction down a couple hours later

I did email him and asked him how much for shipping to sacramento this morning. Guess what - no reply. What is worse is that there are actual bidders out there right now.

He will always be having a hardship which forces the sale (my loss, your gain, blah blah blah wah wah wah). Emails will be filled with broken english usually. If you offer cash, and insist on an escrow service, that will also force the end of discussion. He will also offer to end the auction for you if you send the money now.
Bottem line, if you send money overseas you are screwed.

A friend almost fell for a scam last week. He is selling a bike on an internet classified ad,He is asking $3000.00 for the bike.A guy emails says he will buy the bike but cant pick it up for a couple of weeks. He sends a check for $5000.00 and has a letter with the check asking my friend to wire the extra $2000.00 to another person the buyer owes money to. My friend cashed the check, goes to Western Union to wire the money and tells the lady the story of how he sold the bike. The lady told him to call his bank before he sends the money out.The check was a bad .The bank had been trying to get a hold of him.Be careful ......if it sounds too good to be true....it probablyis a scam

I had two ads on wreckedbike.com, and I must have gotten a dozen of those "can I send more" emails. I got double emails since I had two ads, and both mails would be the same. Somebody just runs a web crawler that sends out the blanket emails and the money gets sent in. Sad.
Just remember that "cashiers checks" can be forged. ALWAYS let the check clear first.

Usually when an ebay auction ends, or goes to completion, if you have the auction number you can still reference the auction. The scam auctions, like I said above, don't go to the end. If you try to reference the scam ad with the auction number you don't get the end of auction page, just a "not found" message.
Theres' your sign!

I sent the guy an email asking if I could have my "buddy in the area" check it out. If it was as advertised he would pay cash on the spot. Good thing I didn't hold my breath waiting for a reply!
