Not too pleased about my battery...
So here I am, with about 3500 miles on the odometer... bike regularly ridden, no fancy gadgets, kept indoors blah blah blah... man... the bike is only 5 months old... what happens when I go to try and squeeze in a short ride tonite?
CLICK. CLICK..... battery is dead. WTF??? So I rll strat the bike down my driveway.... get in my short ride...
of course along the way I have to stop for gas.... I forget that my battery is hooped.. shut the bike off... DOH!
CLICK.... CLICK.... so now I have to roll start the 10R leaving the gas station... One thing I have to say.. man. .the bike is LIGHT... thank God since I had to puch it 2 blocks to find a hill steep enough to start it on...
So now the worst part is going to be telling my dealer... this is obviously a warranty issue... I cant wait to be told to pound sand by Kawasaki Canada. I predict they will say something like "oh.. we dont cover batteries" or "you must have shorted it out" (that's always my favourite one... )
So.. anyone else here have their battery up and die yet?

Fish,
dealer I bought my 10 from had the same problem with about 8 bikes all brand new on the floor, went back to Yuasa and it appears they had a problem with a batch so just sent him replacements! Not sure if this is your case or not but worth a try, you think that is a problem try owning an Aprilia Mille it EATS batteries for breakfast ........ push it you must be joking!
Believe me inline fours start so easy compared to Fat Bastid Twins!

Wormhole had to replace his battery, after the bike sitting with 1 mile on it for a couple months. So it's not heat, vibration, or the alternator cooking it. Must be a issue with the battery itself.

going back to the serial number thread - where's yours in the lineup (too lazy to look).
Mines in the upper 9k range, and the battery is fine.

Could it have something to do with the PC3? Noticed that you had PC3 set up pics awhile back...
BTW, fellow Vancouver-ite here with an orange 10R. Shouldnt that battery still be under warranty? Isn't the 1st year comprehensive, except for tires? I'd like to hear how they believe a battery could "go" in the first year.

Dealer isnt open on Mondays... none of them are here.
As for the PC3? Not likely. Hooked inline to the ECU.

I bought an Interstate battery for my 12R this spring. Showed the guy at the battery shop your picture on the box and said to tell their area sales dude to pass along the word the only reason they sold me this battery is because of you being sponsored.
btw, whether he knew anything - I don't really know, but he said the Interstate battery I bought was actually built by Yuasa. When I got home I looked at the old and new batteries and the only thing different in the markings was the Interstae sticker. All the molded-in nomemclature was the same, so I assume they are the same, just as he said.
