Slip on or Full system exhaust???

I am considering buying an exhaust for my new 10r....I am getting either a Muzzy or Akrapovic...BUT I need to decide whether I want just a slip on or full system...IS A FULL SYSTEM REALLY WORTH IT??? I am buying a titanium mid pipe if I get a slip on and titanium headers for a full system...Is the extra $600-$1000 worth 6-8HP or less???

Thanks
Russ

Not in my opinion. I have a slip on and a PC III, it produces a very nice increase in power. A couple of guys I ride with have ZX10's with full systems and mine makes more low end power, same power on top. Just my two cents though.

stick with the slipon and spend the extra $1000 or so on suspension or something else.

I will be running a full system, along with the PCIIIusb. I am looking at the Micron, I had one on my 6RR and loved it, t gave good HP and sounded great, the fit and finish were as good as anything, and for the price you cant beat it...JMO

Just came back from a dyno with my Muzzy TI Slip-on and Street BMC air filter with 2230mi. Before I tell you what the horsepower numbers were I have to talk a little history first. Originally wanted PCIIIusb and the above mentioned pieces but I had major problems installing the PCIII. The dam thing would come on with a F1 light and I think it was sticking the full injectors in the open position because smoke started coming out of the tail pipe. After hours of re-checking connectors and such 3 or 4 times I just gave up and un-installed the PCIII. Now last week I put the stock pipe on with stock air filter and had it dynoed and came back with a 151.1. Today( one week later) with no other changes to the bike exept muzzy and BMC and same dyno machine same temp. same rider on dyno and came back with 155.6. After that the guys at the dealer said they were pretty impressed for a slip-on and said they wouldn't put the PCIII on because I won't really see an increase. I tend to agree with them especially after the PC problem. I already sent It back to Dyno jet and when it comes back i'm selling it on ebay unless one of you guys wan't to buy it. One last note, I been riding with the slip-on from day one with the stock air filter but when I installed the BMC the bike woke up and just rockets now.

If your racing sure if not I wouldn't. I had the same thought, but I did not feel it was worth it for me. I went with the akra slip.

bluedevil, you dont need a PC for street riding or occasional DragStrip visits...If you want more HP then buy VP racing MR9 fuel...

I have an Akrapovic pipe on my ZX12, motor is untouched with OEM airfilter using MR9 fuel, gearing, 57" wheelbase and I am going 150mph in the 1/4 mile in 90 degree heat/humidity...

Sounds like what I should do for now. I do make an occasional dragstrip and track day but nothing serious. Still waiting for DynoJet to return my replacement PCIII, and then its off to ebay.
