Purchasing a better ZX-10R clutch??

Is there a better clutch (aftermarket) available for purchase other than a Kasasaki stock clutch??... prices??

Vendor info?...

figure this question will come up soon as ZX-10R is not known to be bullet proof so might as well ask.

I intend to continue to abuse mine from time to time; not much fun otherwise....

Any info or helpfull comments are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Salsa, you must stay with the OEM fibers and steels...A few guys have tried the aftermarket clutch plates only to find they disintegrate after a few passes...Then have to drop the oil pan and cleanout the pickup screen...Ohh and those kevlar clutches, do you really want that stuff floating around in your oil through out your motor???

The only thing you can do is buy a few sets at a time so you have them, and put in a BilletBasket to prevent destroying the motor...

www.ronayers.com has the cheapest OEM parts...unless you know the owner of a kawasaki dealer and get 10% above cost...I wish I did !!!

Not being too pesamistic; just have heard a few clutches failed around 5,000 miles and mine is getting around that milage.

I know my 1992 ZX-11 clutch seems bulletproff as it has by my own personal experience taken lots of hard dry launches and still holding after 20,000 miles. It makes at least 20 less hp.

Time will tell. Not really worried just want forum knowlege available on the subject in case.

I noticed that a Hayabusa test in sportrider ("uncorking the genie") threw out their slipper clutch as they determined it was too grabby and got much better results with aftermarket.

Thanks for info and helping with my research..

The ZX11 clutch plates are a bigger diameter thats why they last longer, along with all the other motor parts...Now that everything is being down sized for weight and mass purposes there are disadvantages and the clutch is one of them!!!

The aftermarket Busa item was probably the aftermarket Brock Davidson Mod.which makes the Busa launch smoother, they to use OEM clutch plates...

Makes sense to me; can't have everything like down sizing for weight AND tougher. Now I am worried .. it's like the sky is falling all of a sudden hehe.

Actually I am more more like lazy and want to ride like a mad man at the dragstrip free of hassles and extra spenditures... oh well OEM will work.

Have a great weekend guys.

We would offer something as soon as a need is identified. Is anyone having a problem? The ZX-12 clutch kit was an answer to a specific need that drag racing the 12 presented.

I am guessing (strongly) that those regularly dragracing the ZX-10R will want a longer lasting clutch if available. Just give it a while....

Have fun;stay alive.
