If your heading down I-80 your going to be pretty bored till denver!!
If I-80 is your choice, then in Illinois get off at the Ottawa exit number 90 which is route 23. head south and get in route 71. It will take you through the Starved Rock area. Has some very tight knee down turns with good straights. It's really the best it gets in Illinois. have fun and stay sharp!!

We're leaving on the 28th in the morning. Heading west on 94 throught Chicago, then up through the twin cities then across to Oregen(portland) then down to LA, then over to Las Vegas, then heading home. The old man has done the trip twice alone. So I'm following him.

Stand by for delays on the Indiana side of Chicago. The last few times I've gone through there (on the 11th was last time) there have been long consruction delays. They weren't even close to being done, either. Ever think about taking the Badger Ferry across the lake from Ludington? Saves the Chicago fiasco and is a pretty cool ride.
