Ya, I talked to my dealer on Thursday - he had just heard about it & didn't know any detail, said I'd get my wheel first - I appreciate it, but don't really care - I'm riding anyway.

blazin... it is possible that you dont need your wheel replaced... you can call your dealer or KMC Canada and have them check your VIN.

Gotta give Kudos for Kawasaki (USA) really getting the notice out to all the dealers and the wheels as quick as possible. My dealer is in B.F.E, and the got my wheel two days after getting the notice and me bringing the bike in.

Update from Calgary:

I called Kawasaki Canada directly on Friday , the receptionist was "unsure" where to direct my call, but she did say that she got about 50 calls about it that day. She tried customer service, I got a machine, left a message and got called back within the hour.

Issac confirmed the recall, told me that all the noticiations have gone out, and to call my dealer directly. oh, and Issac said that he is required to let me know not to ride it.

I called my dealer, barely got the word zx10-r out of my mouth and was interupted with "did you buy that here?". They took my VIN and told me that they will run it through Kawi's computer and phone me when the part comes in.

My problems with the process:

1. No web-site update from the canadian website.
2. My dealer (blackfoot motorsports) wasn't on top of this. When I called on Tuesday they didn't know.
3. No-one at my dealership or from Kawi seems to know what the correct paper trail is. Issac couldn't tell me if I would get notified, or if my dealer would. My dealer didn't know either.
4. I'm the god-damned customer. Why am I doing the legwork. This gives me a headache and I'm starting to wish I had bought a Honda.

I got my notice on Friday and on Tuesday I went into my dealer and they are ordering it and I really dont know when it will be here since they just said they would call when it comes in. They also had no idea what I was talking about good thing I brought in my recall notice. It sucks that I had to tell the dealer about the recall it should have been Kawasaki, they could have sent out all dealers a notice about the recall at the same time as we got ours. Or my dealer is triing to be the usual pain in my ass when it comes to any kind of service.

blazin I'm in Guelph too, havent seen you around.

letter arrived here - 30 miles east of Calgary. Blackfoot is allegedly ordered the part. I'll probably get mine after everyone that works there, who has a friend gets theres, and after that friend calls in another favour and get's theres.

christ i'm bitter. rode to work today, 11 degrees Celcius, raining, still had fun.
