Poll Question:
Dare you ride your 10R with it's original front wheel???

Well.... since I've personally thrashed the shite out of my 10R for several months now.... and now I.. like the rest of you, find out that apparently my front wheel is no good...

I ask all of you... are you going to actually NOT ride your bike as requested by KMC until a new wheel is installe don your ride...

or do you say screw it and ride it like you stole it (kinda like you have been anyways! )

Just wondering

Yes. My bike will be the first from my dealer to get the wheel replaced.

No, I won't ride. But I only have one weekend to wait.

i phoned my dealer in Calgary AB and they didn't know what I was talking about. I notified them of the problem and they are "looking into it". I figure that if was important enough KMC would call my ass on the phone.

I won't hold my breath that my dealer or KMC every contacts me about this.

Screw the lawyers, I word the @#$@!# to work and back today and thrashed it even harder.

I'm ridin mine the way I always do and could care less! They tell you not to ride it just to cover theiir asses in case of a lawsuit. I will be one of the first with a new wheel though.

I got the bad news today my bike is affected by this recall. The guy at the service counter(Edmonton) said most 10s will get a new wheel. I spend most of my time on the back wheel anyways,so whats the biggie.

I'm not worried, I have a track day set-up at Mugello for the 27th of September and I highly doubt I'll have the new wheel by then so I am not missing a chance to get on Mugello, even if it's 50 Euro a session(I'm doing 4).

I'm still riding to work and back, or around town. Thankfully no track days scheduled before I should have my replacement wheel.

If you look at all my posts since this whole mess started, I have steadfastly maintained that I will have this wheel thing sorted during the winter months here in Boston. I will not alter this plan. I'm not trying to be a tough guy(I'm not) or a wise guy. This is all about KMC covering their ass. In this litigous society, I can't say that I blame them. The 3 front wheels in question have not actually failed, but were not up to snuff during an X-ray examination. I'll take my chances. I am entering the busiest portion of my race season(LRRS), and my street season ends at the end of October. I live in the city, which forces me to garage my ZX10 15 miles away in the 'burbs, and my racebike is garaged 90 miles away near the track. Not trying to sound like an idiot, but I just do not have the time to be fucking around with my 10 due to some bloodsucking lawyers.

.... steps off podium.

...because of privacy mandates that I impose on myself, I can only provide a partial sequence of numbers from my registered 10R (4A##94##)...I know for a fact that an unscrupulous collector of data could have a field day with a motorcycle's VIN that's not 'censored' or protected...anyway, '94' is way out of the affected range...
