Stripped center allen headbolt....
Yea its me again. I really don't know how but the bolt closest to the chain. It gave way instantly never snaped loose like the outhers. Has anyone else had any hint of these stripping? I'm not completely stupid. Any thoughts beside drilling? Anybody got a magic lamp they can spare?

You lost me. Is this a head bolt, as in you're trying to remove the head? I hope I got this wrong. A stripped head bolt would suck big time.

I'm looking at this thing. They are the four allen head bolts through the center of the head. I went back and noticed they aren't in the torque sequence for torquing head down? Fuc me in the goat ass.... They sure as hell look like a head bolt to me. Call me crazy. Four large headed bolts in the center of the head. What do they do?Anyone?Buller,buller.lol Thanks for the heads up there swft. I start to see the light last night...

Hey Sonic,
I was looking at the kawi website last night, parts diagram. Couldn't really figure out which bolts you were talking about. Your explanation this morning helps greatly!
Looking at the pic on page 5-19 of the factory manual, I think I see the four allens you are referring to. Unfortunately, I can't find anything in the factory manual about them! They might be water cooling passage plugs, or something from the casting process. If you have a factory manual, take a look at that pic and let me know if those are the ones you are referring to.

Those are casting core plugs. No need to touch them.

SWFT, thats them.the 4 zig zaging across the head.The pic shows them to be aprox the same size as the "headbolts". Between the plug holes.
I was askn at work, the guys were telln me "could be a plug" wich would explain a lot. I didnt find any info on them in the manual. Just pics they happened to be in. I am guna try and lift the head when I get home. I was to pissed last night I didnt think. Thanks for your help. I will report back  ,Sonic

Does the castle nut on the right side of the frame need to come out? Cant tell,looks like it just but up against leg on the head. I took the bolt in the center of the nut, out. (last question guys) lol

Im using the service manual,however it isn't step by step. I am just being overly cautious. I have never delt with the inline 4s before, and Ive never put a head gasket on a bike. Though its not entirely different from a car. The castle nut I'm refering to is a motor mount on the head.(Rightside)The castle nut has like a dowel on it that house's a bolt. I can see the bolt goes in to the head. I can't tell if the dowel does or not.The head just seems to be taking an awful lot of tugging. Just thought I would bounce it off you guys before I go hog wild on her.lol Thanks for everyones patience,Sonic.

Sonic, STEP AWAY FROM THE MOTORCYCLE
With all due respect, it is EXACTLY step by step. Kawsasaki manuals are the best in the business.
If you go to "engine top end" , then "cylinder head removal", you will find a list of things to be removed in order. You then need to go to the section covering each of those items for instructions on how to remove/install each.
The nut you're refering to is part of the engine mount system that aligns the engine in the frame. Read the section on engine removal/installation to learn how it works. You're scarin' me, man, but we're here for ya'.

Yea I got her. Just preping both surfaces to accept the new gasket. I guess I did ask for stuff I coulda figured out on my own. Just felt like the pro's are here why not ask.lol Again thank you Doug and SWFT. Now I just gota figure out where all these plugs and bolts go....
Doug, would you spend the $60 on new head bolts? I see the manual has torque specs for both.
