Cracked windshield .
Have now a one inch crack steming from MIDDLE bolt and nut which holds ZX-10R windshield in place on its left side; Also; horizontally on the right side of windshield another small crack on black narrow fairing piece .
1. Cause: wheelies is part to blame.
2. Noticed: Of all six bolts holding the windshield in place;the middle bolts utilize a metal nut with no absorbing
ability. (other four screw into a rubber assisted cushion)
So I am basically warning and thinking if ya put some kind of cushion between the 2 metal nuts holding back of windshield. (maybe a small rubber o ring?) you can assure this does not happen to ya. thats all folks.....
Have fun;stay alive.

Thanks for the heads-up. Will they warranty that?

Hope so... dunno how it will be viewed by dealer.
I figure it could have as easily occured while jarring over a bad road section and the blame is a design flaw from the factory.
If they buy that and not a blame me for doing a rough wheelie it will be covered under warranty... I am not really sure when or how it actually happened?? oh well... life happens.

If you find those cracked - a more thorough investigation should be in order. The whole front clip is held on by plastic (namely the ram air snorkle). You might likely have crackes a few other tabs if you came down hard enough to split the windshlield.

I removed lower ,middle and upper fairing to access front of forks in order to lower 2 inches. I did this work this last weekend ; the two METAL NUTS WITH NO CUSHION on the windshield are the only ones I saw that had this problem. All other bolts ect... have a clear plastic washer or rubber backup and no cracks anywhere I saw in the process ;so far anyways....
The two metal nuts I refer to,light plastic windshield and ultra thin fairing don't get along by themselves.... cracks are not severe but not good either.
preventable if factory had something softer behind middle nuts holding windshield in place.
I don't recall coming down too hard in my opinion..
