Why I fucking *HATE* UPS

So, I come home yesterday, there's a UPS InfoNotice on the screen door. 1st attempt, will make 2nd attempt today, between 2 - 5 pm. So I make sure I am home at noon, and wait till 6:50pm before making my first call. The rep tells me that the drivers are still out delivering packages. So I wait till 8:00 PM and call again. This time I just let the ups rep say 'hello?' 'hello?' 'hello?' I figure if they are going to waste my time, the least I can do is waste theirs...

UPS Sucks. Trouble at least 50% of the time. They lose it or damage it.
Fed Ex is great, they can always tell you exactly where your pagage is
right down the the street. Expensive though. Never had any touble
with them.

I gave up on FedX and use UPS now. Go figure. You really want to get flamed about UPS? Wait till you find out what a "virtual scan" is.

UPS is rather slow to my house, but at least they get there on the day they say they will. FedEx is a little better.

Now, Airborne Express.... that's a different story! On the first delivery attempt, no one was home so they left a card (signature required) saying that they would attempt delivery again tomorrow. I signed the line that says "Just leave the package at my doorstep, I accept the risks" and left the card hanging on the doorknob. The next day, no package. I was rather irate at this point, so I called. Apparantly, instead of attempting delivery and seeing my signature on the card, they just called the house to see if anyone was at home. Since no one was there, they didn't even bother driving by the house. This was about 6pm when I called. Turns out the sorting center is only about 2 miles from my house, but since they close at 6, I'd have to wait for the driver to attempt delivery again TOMORROW..... someone couldn't just stay there 5 minutes after 6 o'clock so I could pick up the package!? Man... what a hassle. It wouldn't have been so bad if I weren't in a time crunch to get the package though....

This is strange. I remember the UPS guys always made their daily special deliveries on time to my ex while I was at work. Go figure.

The reason I prefer UPS over FedX is the drivers. Most UPS drivers on a commercial route are familiar with the customers they serve and will make an effort to accomodate you. FedX drivers tend to be aloof dickheads and ill-tempered dykes.

I prefer FedEx because they allow you to pick the package up the same day the driver missed you. UPS does not. I have no patience, especially when it comes to motorcycle accessories I have purchased and awaiting to receive.

I use Fedex because I have had to Sue and win in court twice UPS. (No you do not even want to know!

Hardest for me to believe is FedEx is a "LOT" Cheaper than UPS and their Ground used to be another company I used all of the time with great results. The cost for me to ship the stacks 2 day delivery was about $6.00. To Ship me leathers 2 day delivery was $15.00 to get them back Ground UPS was $25.00

Of course we have a very good rate where I work and they allow us to use it and mark the Air Bill "Personal" and I get the corporate rate. Like someone else said, I can always get the package the same night if I missed the delivery!

My sympathy!

FedEx Ground was RPS Roadway Package Service. During the "Last" UPS Strike, they got so much business that they had to stop taking Non Business Customers and finally they were bought by FedEx because they had the same quality of the Air Service (Cheaper and Better). Just compare UPS Top service "Red Label" which is the "Standard" FedEx service Over Night!

Fed-ex, UPS and Purolator ALL SUCK (then they swallow!)

I live 20 miles outside of a city and of course, like 90% of all the people who live in my town, I work in the city (as does my wife) until 5pm each day so I will NEVER be home to accept the parcel. Only Purolator/Fed-ex will drop the parcel off AFTER I sign the paper. What a waste.

I agree with the previous post on Airborne Express. Those guys are awesome. I ordered a part for an arcade cabinet out of London England, it was here within 3 days and they delievered it in the middle of the night and left it in a box on my front step. Now thats service.

Oh yeah, UPS/FED-ex out of the USA to Canada is painful. I usually choose USPS because it is 80% cheaper and 40% of the time it is here faster.

UPS -- that's pronounces "oops" in my book. They have lost irreplaceable items for me twice: hard disc drives with data. Worst is, they can't even tell you where things are half the time. FedEx only, now.

Well, I sold a brand new $700 scanner on Ebay and shipped FedEx they lost it and they said they couldn't find it. After 2 weeks I had to refund the money to the buyer and lost my ebay and paypal fees. By the 4th week just before they were required to refund my insurance I paid for they all of a sudden found my package. It din't make me happy though because I lost a customer and had to relist with new fees.
