Mmmmm, I looked for all the talk of the R1 here. I own a 2004 R1( engine not blown). I've seen Zx10r people visit the R1-Forum, I am visiting for comparison. So far looks like good people here. Both bikes to me are outstanding. It all falls down to the rider. I do agree that bike mags pump up all the numbers on bikes. Anyways, ZTECH R1, saying hello to all ZX10R ppl. Kawasaki has a great bike. I am not here to cause problems. Diversity is life. I just love ALL sport bikes. To Date: I really like my R1.

Welcome, I too think that variety is the spice of life. If everyone had the same bike there wouldn't be any progress. So ride what you have and enjoy it fully. The R1 was my 2nd choice out of the 4 liter bikes, I'm most definitely happy with what I chose, and my friends are happy with their R1's so the world is all good.

Hi ztech
Like your attitude;I had the R1 for second choice before I heard of all the blow ups. whoops hehe.
No really ;I hope it does not happen to you; you show respect and must have a cool character and deserve the same. Everyone is entitled to their own choices. I wish ZX-10R had headlights like the R1; the R1 is a very impressive bike I am sure.
Have fun;Stay alive.

You won't get any negative from me about an R1.
My buddy, who owns an '02 R1, and I swapped bikes a couple of weeks ago and that thing was sweet, to say the least.

...and I wish Kawasaki would study the R1's gage cluster...soon...(the ZX10R/6RR/6R/Z1000 cluster needs major improvement)...
....note to MC mfgs: True, when it comes down to general street riding, the tach is seldom used as most riders ride their bikes by 'feel'...however...when they need to use/see their tachs for whatever reason on or off the track, they need to able to see it and be able to read it...an analog sweep needle-type tach is best ergonomically for info acquisition and recognition...make the whole face its shift light via adjustable superbright secondary back lighting
...for street riding, the speedo is the most important gage to see/read...and a large character/font DIGITAL SPEEDO is ergonomically the best for info acquisition and recognition...(helps one keep their license )
imho, of course

This is a great board, so you made a good choice. Much less bias and childess stuff than the R1 place.
Like you I realized the R1 was the best choice (for me) with the Kawi a coins toss away.
I do get a good chuckle out of their love of searching the net for blown motors myself. You have to allow them their little ecentricities given they like motorcycles that come in orange and the like.

nice to have somone from the R1 side join us. welcome aboard! i think you'll find this place a little friendlier to the non-10r riders than the R1 forum is to the non-R1 riders.
