hmm.... an AMA rider friend of mine told me he's already on his third motor in his '04 R1...
I mean, I know it's a redesigned model, but the 10R is a completely new model and it doesn't have any significant problems....

The best bike to watch for probs would be Josh Hayes' bike. Attack Kawasaki is doing the most non-factory development, and is prolly the best example of what can be done with a stock bike.
