Mirror glass removal.Do you know how ?
I have a new mirror on order(BACKORDERED). I had the stalk rewelded where it broke.Repainted it.It looks like new.The only thing is the plastic housing overheated melted to the metal.I want to remove the glass from the plastic housing so I can remove the nut,spring and bevel.Do any of you fellas know how to remove it ? Its just something I'm messing with until my new one comes in.Thanks for you kind gents help.

Take it to a glass shop.
Last time I cracked a mirror they charged me $15 to replace the reflective part. Seemed better than waiting and paying $120 for a new one...lol

Thanks man I hadnt even thought of that since I want to remove it without breaking the glass . I have a friend that owns a glass shop I will call in the morning to get some more info.

I have used a hair dryer and it soften up the adhesive. A heat gun may work faster BUT could melt the plastic too FYI.
