Anyone figured out how to remove the Exhaust Servo without the FI light?
Uh, yeah. What I already said. I'm putting a TiForce pipe on, and want to remove the servo without the light. Anyone got it figured out yet? Thanks

Well, you could leave just the servo installed and connected, and remove the cable which wouldn't be connected since the valve is gone. Not the most elegant though.

Anything unseen can be considered elegant

I haven't looked into this yet but I wonder if a simple resister would be enough to fool the ECU into thinking the servo was there?

I would imagine there's a DC stepper motor involved, and a feedback loop. Just unhook the cables and leave the servo motor in place.

Check you service manual...page 3-76.........This might send you in the right direction.

Hmmmm... It would appear that possibly a 4 - 6 ohm resistor might do the job?

Problem with leaving the motor in is the space. I need the space to mount a PC3, and the storage won;t work as it is being used for some other goodies later this year. Thanks for any help.

Gack!
Ack! Thwat!
Canyon - that's a 4-6 KOhm not Ohm (Thousand-Ohm) resistor.

is there any place you can relocate the servo motor (maybe under the seat somewhere)?

Oops. Dropped a "K" while typing. Kind of an important one, tho. Yep, 4-6 KOhm.

Canyon and Whoop-Since you guys understand electronics far better than I do, are you saying wire the resistor between the two wires connected to the servo motor and that should be all that is necessary? TIA

top shelf, as plain as I can make it: Between the White lead (C) and Black lead (D), 4-6 K should make the ECU's power-on-self-test happy.
Apparently the ECU does not sample the valve position beyond the two extremes 0 and 4-6 K during normal operation.
