"Sold Out"? Then where the hell are you guys!
So we know the 10 is a very cool tool & sold out. SoCal must have a bunch of them on the road; right? So where the heck are all you guys? 
Come on ladies, hike up your skirts, climb aboard, drop a knee and help me defend the 10's honor. Ortega is just full of everything seemingly but 10's.... Unless you're all parked bench racing.... 
Wormie is excused as he has a note from his doctor. D is excused because, well at least I've seen him up there battling. XL is excused because he probably has saddle sores...

I saw another 10R today, up at the restaurant in the canyons...
Black. With an Akrapovic Evo-2 racepipe, and some other bling.
Didn't get a chance to ride with him though, so could not report.
Still - it's the first one I've seen that I didn't already know about a friend buying (or others on the board).

I saw 3 at a dyno shoot out in VA. Two were black and one blue. Can't remember what the blue one had on it. But he pulled about a 151 HP on the dyno....now that I think about it I think he was all stock. The other two black ones had some other mods. One black one had a slip on and a Scotts damper. It looked like hell to me though. The back fairing where the passenger sits was all scratched to heck. The bike to me looked like a total mess. The other black one was all stock except he had the front end strapped down. He also had temp tags on it. Other than those 10s and mine, I haven't seen any running around the DC area. My dealer said they've sold one blue one prior to mine being sold which is a black one. But he still has a green, blue, and black 10s on the showroom floor. The black one had a sold sign on it for a few days but the guy backed out.

I've seen nothing but 04' R1's everywhere here in Texas...I have yet to see a ZX10R on the road.

It is interesting to note - the hype about the "sold-out" issue, and I just don't see very many at all on the road. Now obviously the sold-out thing is with KMC, and I'm extremely happy for them. We do know quite a few dealers still have them on the floor.
Perhaps XL could let us know how many sold-out really means. Hey! Rump Ranger (oops, I mean XL )! Exactly how many 10's came into North America???
And no. No parties at my place. It's at Wormies place. That way he can take care of security too!

Do you guys suppose it's possible only 1500-2000 units made it here?
There's, what? 500 Kawasaki dealers in the US? Each gets at least one.
Then, some dealers get 6, and some get 32; I haven't heard of a dealer getting an amount in between those numbers, not that they haven't, but I haven't heard of it (not saying much, my sample size is limited to the local dealers).
Swami Dave's predictions:
I think we'll get a flood of '05 models now that the magazines and man-on-the-street buzz have established the bike. I bet we get them little changed from the '04, with the same instrument cluster... and I bet we get them in January, probably in pre-production now.
But, I also wouldn't bet against an undertail exhaust being tested (yecch, IMO).

Sold out from the Kawi warehouse, but sure in the hell not sold out on So.Cali dealer floors. I personally saw 5 of them in 2 shops in LA area, and also saw 4,one of each color, setting on dealer floor in Vegas. Vegas dealer said they weren't selling at the other dealer across town either.

A bunch of California models have just showed up here in Boston area dealers. They sold out of their original (49 state) alottment very quickly and only received sporadic shipments after that. Now they are getting theirs from California dealers. Very sneaky too, as they peel off the extra sticker on the tank and hope that prospective customers do not know to look inside the right side fairing for cannister tubing.

I'd be right there with ya draggin my knee but I can't justify the cost to get from here to there just to drop a knee. Tell ya what I'll scrounge you up an 02 or 04 R1 and you and I can scare the hell out of people here. C'mon, whatcha ya say? Alright I guess I'll just have to do it myself.

Price tag on bikes was msrp, no additional charges. If the 10R is so dam awesome and sold out everywhere, then a dealer could name his price for the ones he has, and he can't.

KB> I'm way far south but it's not too far if you want cheap track days and even cheaper(free) ride up the volcano. I'm trying to set up a deal to get to one of the GP's up North, so maybe I can set somthing up for us for when you come to Milan.

I believe the sold out is bs .My local dealer had a blue one on the floor and when I asked him about it he said the Kawi's don't bring in the money like the Hondas and R1's.Every R1 he had he got atleast full pop for ,and the Hondas 12-13,000$.Kerry if you rode somewhere besides Ortega you might see a few,there were 2 other black ones at Newcombs Sunday.We are going to have to get together soon,maybe Sunday.
