600rr..... maybe its time to consider another hobby. Rolling a pipe in with your loan???
Before you call out industry leaders that are kind enough to stay in touch with their customer base.... maybe you should tidy things up around your own home.

The first sentence says "...FOR THE LOVE OF GOD..."
So this lesson has taught you:
-ALWAYS buy direct when possible
-Dont order from Jerks.. I mean Parts Unlimited
-Dont trust what your dealer parts dweeb says
Correct?

Maybe it's time to consider giving the guy a break. You don't know his financial status. Maybe he couldn't afford the bike and the pipe any other way.

As for the dumb ass on the Akro exhaust system. I've had pretty much all exhaust systems. And the The Ti force is the best for the dollar period. The build quality is qreat. It weighs lighter than my Akro on my 12R. As for you how much experience do you have with exhaust systems? And how many bikes have you owned? My quess is that you are a young squid and that is proably your 2nd bike 3rd at the max. LOL

How many race wins does Kawasaki have using the Akro pipe?
How many Championships has Kawasaki won using the Akro pipe?
Makes me wonder about the Slovinian Wonder. In case you are not old enough to remmember Kawasaki won more races and Championships in one year running the MUZZY exhaust than they have in total years using Akro.

WOW LOL
The Akrapovic is still a better pipe.
And Mr. muzzy it's not the pipe that win's the race it's the rider.
I bet if you took the muzzy pipe away from best rider he would lose,NOT.

Whoa.
Widow... change your tune. This one is getting old. Why don't YOU engineer a pipe and get a bike, then race Mr. Muzzy? We'll even get a rider for you if you do.

I've gotta admit widow.. it's getting kinda lame... Rob Muzzy himself answered you and you persisted in posting 3 diffeent threads in different forums about it. He's the CEO of a company.. do you think he has time to search all over the internet to answer the exact same question in each post that you rant in?
On top of that you got an answer.

You're right... I should give him a break. I wont tell him anything about the pitfalls of financing (which he may not understand)... and this has nothing to do with "financial status". Motorcycles arent a welfare sport. Chances are this kid probably doesnt have the proper gear to ride fast..yet he prioritizes by purchasing a pipe first a foremost. .
Im embarassed for widowmaker. You'd best just never reveal your true identity.

Your right you should give him a break. You didn't tell him about the pitfalls of financing you only posted sarcasm, nothing more, nothing less. Please don't act like you were offering up economic advice. Since I have worked in the profession I can at least shed some light on why someone would finance a pipe in with thier loan. Here, a substantial tax break is given to bolt on accessories if they are purchased at the time the bike is purchased. Alot of times people would buy the bike and all of their accessories at the time of purchase becasue of this tax break.

Its funny how someone can reccomend a particular pipe over another pipe when they havent ever tested them.
Its that brand loyalty thing i guess.
Each pipe is different for each bike. What runs "best" on a zx12r may not run "best" on a zx10r etc. The designs are totally different. The engines are totally different.
For someone to say that brand X pipe will be better than such and such a pipe based on a pipe they had on a different bike is pure hot air.
I have a yoshimura duplex race pipe on my 12r but I couldnt recomend the one they will make for the 10r, not knowing anything about it.
How could I?
I personally wouldnt rush out and buy a pipe untill there are several tested choices out on the market.
That is unless you personally feal the performance of the pipe is secondary to the name plate rivited to the can.
Wouldnt it be nice to have someone do a test of all the pipes with proper mapping. Unfortunately its expensive and doesnt generate any profit for the person doing the testing. Theres no guarantee that people reading the report will buy from the shop that spent the money generating the report.
That is unless there was a group purchase setup where there was, say 30 or so people that put a $500 deposit down on a pipe of thier choice after the testing was complete and the results were released. This way the shop got the sales to recoup the cost of testing and mapping the pipes. The "tested" pipes them selves could be sold after the test so that the cost of the test pipes would be temporary.
Maybe each manufacturer will donate a test pipe? I'm sure some manufacturers would be scared to death of this idea.
Pluss there would be a base map to start with for each pipe.
Maybe even a power commander w/map & pipe group package deal?
Somthing like this would cut right thru all the bullshit about pipes.

Jim, since the early 80s Yoshimura has been making top notch pipes!!!...So, why not say Yosh is a great pipe???...Akrapovic is another excellent piece!!!...Your 100% right in doing a pipe comparison without jumping to conclusions...But I say you cant go wrong with jumping to a Yoshimura or Akrapovic conclusion!!!...Just my .02 cents...
Muzzy is a good pipe, well made...Thank God nobody makes pipes like the Vance & Hines pipes of the mid '80s...
Dont you guys LOVE this discussion??? This is never ending, but its needed!!!

Please tell me how this works. Sales tax is sales tax. Whether its on a $700 pipe or a $11,000 vehicle.
Sure you get somewhat of a break if get taxed on 1 lump sum vs. getting taxed on 2 seperate invoices, but even then the savings is nill...like mayb $3 or so. Please show me the substansial savings.
And again from your last post... Im sure if you sold vehicles, you'd roll EVERYTHING you can into a loan to get the biggest commission possible. What you dont mention is the bigger the loan the bigger the intrest accrues, correct?

madav8tr, turbo may be a little harsher than I would, but I agree with him - I really question the wisdom of adding the pipe to the purchase price.
I was at Town And Country (AZMotorsports) in Feb, breezing through to the Parts counter, and I saw a pair of Gixxer 600s with, of all things, Micron pipes on them. On the showroom floor. To be sold that way, on speculation. Faaack, no, thanks.
Kids and those blinded by bikelust don't realize many things; one key fact escaping them is the salesman and dealer get their percentage in cash up front - every incentive to raise the principal on the loan - and if the dealer finances the loan, they get an additional percentage of the loan, as much as they can negotiate the buyer for over the finance company's percentage. And, they get this 'vendor participation' payment relatively quickly, too - every payment the buyer makes.
Adding a pipe and other accessories is not smart. Buying accessories from the dealership is also not smart. One thing you can try is to negotiate down the price of the bike, but add in some accessories for the dealer to make a little back, but only do this is you are financing a small amount or through your own financing.
My opinion, you do what you need to.

State of Alabama sales tax on vehicles is 3.5%, any "bolt-on" accessories that you add will be taxed at this rate. Any additional items you purchase will be charged the tax for the particular city, whatever that tax rate may be. Where I worked the tax rate is 9%. See now why some people may roll a pipe into their loan?

Ok, sales tax in FL is 6%, but some counties are higher.
So even if I only pay 3.5% on the vehicle and accessories, the added principal will negate any tax break in the first month's interest accrual regardless of local tax rates.
But Im sure you guys disclosed this in fine print on the finance contract...eh?

CR, I know what your saying about expecting a companies product being top notch because somthing else they made was. But I've seen over and over that isnt the case. Not just with pipes for bikes but any and all parts for bikes and or automotive. I've seen claims made for parts in the automotive industry that were totally BS. Dyno test the parts or even try to get them to work properly as advertized and you find garbage. Its VERY prevelant in the "bolt on" automotive market.
I'd have to agree with you that if a company has made products that have always been top notch and top among similar products, then theres a good chance the next one they make will be also. But its not a rule. I've seen that not be the case too many times.

Y2K... unfortunately American consumers are not very patient. If we conducted comparisons on every product in every market... Chevrolet would have never been able to sell the Chevette. Ford the Pinto, etc....lol.
But your idea would be a brilliant basis for starting the newest government organization... Automotive Sciences and Consumer Testing Affairs.
We can find you a 500 car/2000 motorcycle cave stocked with all the latest diagnosis equipment and on site test tracks.
This would be an ideal property...lol http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1607&item=4305137952&rd=1
