BEST ALL AROUND SLIP-ON PIPE? I would like to purchase a slip-on pipe for my 04 zx 10. I was wondering who you guys think makes the best all around sounding performance slip-on pipe? Is it better to go to a high mount or keep it at the stock location? Also who should I contact to find the best price. Thanks

Devil makes great pipes. Fit and finish was great on mine. Go to www.devilbikes.com The sound is not as loud as D&D but is louder than Yosh and most others.

I've always liked the sound of Akra, Muzzy and Two-Bros's only because I have heard them out there more than most other systems. Never heard a Devil but it does look nice. Have not heard the Ti-Force but I am impressed with its quality. Good luck, lots of nice sysems to choose from. You could always go with high exit and not have to worry about replacing the rear signals. Purchased my exhaust locally because I was wanted to put it on my Yamaha card; ask for a hook-up (works for me). Spencer Cycle & Hardracing had some of the best internet pricing and promotions.

It sounds as if everyone who's heard the Jardine on a 10r has been really impressed. As for me I put on a Muzzy slip-on. I was disappointed with the sound at first but after 1 or 2 rides the pipe opened up and sounds real good.....realllll gooddddd.....

Hard ta say what the best sounding slip-on is - I can say that the Jardine (I have the bolt-on - it looks cleaner IMO) has had more than it' share of unbiased positive comments regarding sound (especially when I'm over 7k).

I just installed a Yoshimura TRS Titanium slip-on on my 10R and it's great. The quality is great as well as sounds and looks. Ought to perform well also (We'll find out soon on the dyno).
I was very satisfied with the Yoshi RS-3 on the old bike too.

Forgot about Yosh, loved to use the duplex on my old school GSXR's. Always thought the tri-oval design was kinda cool looking. Had not heard their new systems but I would bet it sounds sweet.

swft dont give me any shit about the devil. I think devil pipe owners just want more out of life. If they made 10 pipes off of one i would do it. It is a devil thing you earthlings wouldnt understand. Its kinda like hot twins it sounds good but could you keep up? LOL
Needs a life
Full throttle!

I got one that looks like a Great Highland bagpipe. Tartan plaid carbon fiber and everything. Five outlets! I love the sound but it's an acquired taste. Some find it too high pitched and squeaky.

I have an Arrow on the way, hoping it will show up soon. Am curious as to what others are getting with slip-ons like Muzzy, Micron, Devil, Akro ect. Anyone care to post some results.
Btw it's the Ti slip-on.

From a previous post.
quote:Ran another 10 this morning on the dyno (thanx Roger). Jardine Slip-On. No other changes. This one spanked our last runner that had a Bolt-On (Sorry D...).
Same dyno, same operator. I think Roger said it had about 2800 miles on it. The graph shows "D"'s bike with the Bolt-On from 2 weeks ago, compared to Roger's bike with the Slip-On. Roger was hopeing for 150hp. At 156.2 hp, he went home happy. Will post a pic of the Slip-On on his bike shortly.

Thanks for the info Mr. Bryant. Any other graphs out there? I remember seeing on the Muzzy site that with their slip-on and PCIII was in the high 160s or low 170s I think. Curious though that the charts are no longer up, any insight on this?

bovine - D's was with the Bolt-On, not the Slip-On like on Roger's bike. They seem to be averaging about 3 to 4 hp more with the Slip-On. So he'd only be down maybe 2 hp (at the moment).
