Drill a 1/16 hole in the top half of the kill switch, insert your I-bolt and rap the tether one half turn, clockwise around the handle bar. You will se mechanically how it works.
Peace,
Johnny boy!!!!

Crotch Rocket gave me a great tip,go to a locksmith or a hardware store, get the flexible keychains that look like a telephone cord..(coil type)drill a small hole in the on/off switch..#6 sheet metal screw attach the keychain to the switch, the other end to your jacket....about 5 bucks

Only problem is some race santioning bodies do not allow the "ghetto tether" modification.
A good one like MPS, Pingel, etc starts at $40 and offers some kind of contingency.

I have the kill switch from Schnitz I am not about to cheap out on a $10,000+ bike and put a screw in the factory switch.
Just wanted to know if someone who already installed one could tell me which wire to splice into.

Take the control cluster off the handlebar and there are two wires coming from the kill switch. Either of those will work.

There are two wires from the factory kill switch you can tap into, they are Yellow/Red and Red.
You can either cut them and wire the new teather into it, and disable the factory one. Or splice in and then both will work and you can take your teather out when you are not at the track. If you do it this way, just note that both kills will need to be triggered to work. Meaning, plug the teather in, flip the factory one to kill, then when you pull the teather out it will kill properly. Thats the way I did mine.
