RIDE HEIGHT SETTING

HI ALL

I HAVE DOG BONES ON MY BIKE. I WANT TO KEEP IT IN THE 2ND HOLE AND LOWER IT ON THE FRONT FORK TUBES TO MAKE IT LEVEL. JUST IN LIKE THE STOCK SETTING.(ONLY LOWER) HOW DO I FIND OUT HOW MUCH TO LOWER IT ON THE TUBES??? WHEN I SLAM IT (3RD HOLE) I'LL USE THE STRAP TO LEVEL. SO I'D LIKE TO KNOW THE FORMULA FOR LOWERING THE FRT TO MATCH THE REAR. I HEAR IT IS NOT A 1" FOR 1" ADJUSTMENT PLS EDUCATE!

MRD> There really isn't a formula for leveling the bike, be very careful though as you bring the tubes up in the triple clamps as the fork ubes are tampered. I leveled a 636 a few weeks ago and there was no ill handling once completed, if you have a tape or ruler to take a measurement to make sure the tubes are the same height it would help a lot. Also take a measurement at the front and rear of the bottom of the fairing to the ground with someone holding the machine up right to check you are level. And don't forget the kickstand, it will need to be cut and re welded or an adjustable unit.

Peace,
J

Be Aware! By lowering the the front you will change the Rake and make the the bike more inclined to headshake. If you lower the rear in an equal amount you will keep the stability of the bike at it's current level!

I know most of you already know this but just in case someone out there does not!

actually johnnyboy there is a way to do it... you need to take a bubble protractor, put it on the forks with the bike in bone stock form and measure the rake... then set the dogbones to the second hole and lower the forks in the triple clamp (with the bubble protractor still in place) until the degree setting of the rake is the same as it was before.

you forgot about the aligator clips, they need to be inserted in parallel to the huggy stats. This will prevent the forward bias of the rasmusin and balance the overal medium from which the forward inertia is derived. It amkes for a much more stabile package. Well, that depends on the type of depends the pilot is wearing. Flight siut or jump siut, you pick.

mrd... READ what I posted... measuring the way you are suggesting will not give you the correct result. READ what I wrote again.

hey fish may be we are on to something. just so happens the rake angle of 24 deg. @ stock hght. is the same as when i lowered and leveled it. i did put it back to stock hght used protractor to get it to same angle after dropping to second hole on d bone. and bingo it reached 24 deg. right at 13/16" down the tubes. it handles just like before

thx for the input mrd

Umm, excuse me please. That is not a formula, but if it works for you and it should then great. I have a partner that lowered his 10R, nice!!! I think I will leave mine at stock height though. I have not problem with secure footing, not like I did on my 12R.

Good advice.

Any issues with clearance? How do you ride, twisties or drag race?
