Boy, Am I Pissed!
Just finished having the 10R dyno tuned, and with a full Akro system (Evo 1), it made 0.3 RWHP more than my '01 Gixxer 1000 (full TiForce system). Now I'm starting to believe the "ringer bikes" stories. I need a drink.

I just had my 10R dyno'd for the first time last Thursday. With a titanium Muzzy slip-on she made 149 hp. At first I was disappointed but the more I think about it the more I could care less because I can't imagine why I'd need anymore power then it has right now.

that's kinda my feeling as well... the seat of my pants tells me that my bike absolutely rocks, so why do I need a bunch of numbers thrown in my face?

OK, the 10R certainly feels faster than the Gixxer, and no, it was not the same dyno, and the Gixxer test was three years ago. But dammit, I wanted at least something in the 150s (it made 149.6) .

Marco, I would suggest going back to the dyno operator and see if you can get some comparison numbers. Other ZX10s, Gix1000s, R1s etc. Granted they won't be back to back runs, but it may help clarify at least a little. The dyno numbers on the ZXs seem to be all over the place, and I'm beginning to think that maybe there are too many dyno "operators" out there.

I remember when my 2000-mile 12R made "only" 165hp/90ft-lb while everyone else was making at least 5hp/5ft-lb more...thinking for a moment that my pride and joy bike sucked, I rode away slightly disappointed...then I gave it a little too much throttle and went a little sideways and a little wheelie...scared the shit outta me!...then I realized:"This bike doesn't suck...my hyper-sportbike skills suck." Lesson learned....quickly
...but higher numbers win the brag-races!

I'm not getting mine dyno'd, basically because I just don't give a damn what the dyno says, and I think the bike rocks whether it's on the side stand or in motion. just my .02

Dont sweat it, using different dynos kinda throws out any chance to compare them. It probably safe to say your Kawi goes with a bit more authority.
Expectation wise, the original G1K was pretty underated. Mine pulled 145 RWHP before anything was done to it. And my partners on that same dyno with a pipe and remap done by an AMA tuner got him 162 out of his crusty ol zook. They had not run one of the new crop last time I was in there to know comparitive numbers.
The mags did expectations a big dis-service. The bikes are better, but by larger margins in areas that most readers dont focus on due to the lack of a having a graph to point to. Those differences make these new bikes more fun to ride, so if they do make any more HP, its just a bit of icing.

I was a bit dissappointed when I had my 10R dynoed. 145 stock then after adding a Ti force full system and PC3R and dyno tuned it went up a true 11 poines. I've asked around about the Hp numbers and I was told that unless you have a air dyno the 10R chokes. Mine was done without the air dyno. Its a different bike now. Strongest bike out with similar mods. Many factors are based on dyno's ( humidity, temperature etc...) and the damn dyno.
