What is wrong with this?

The magazines are for the most part saying the 10R is the kick ass liter bike, but the "old" GSXR1K and the new CBR1000RR are getting all the AMA podiums.

Why is the "best" bike not winnning or really even placing?

Is it because of no or poor developement or the race bike?
Or is it second tier riders on those bikes?
Or both?
Or is it that Honda and Suzuki are better at the race thing?
OR?

I think your opinions are pretty accurate. If you're just talking about Superbike, they only have a back-door support effort with Attack/Josh Hayes. And I think those guys are really doing a great job for what they have.

In Superstock, they're doing excellent as well and just got their first win at Elkhart Lake.

Hopefully next year they'll have a full fledged factory effort. I would sure like to see Doug Chandler riding for Kaw again.

Josh has had so many injuries......its not that he can't ride. He just doesn't have any luck. And the Kawi is new.

The gixxer boys are still running last years stuff.

Honda......well, nothing needs to be said there. But $$$

Not sure I understand...................being a new bike it hasn;t done too bad so far. What did Tommy Hayden do at Road America?!?

The last two comparos I read had the gixxer setting the fastest lap. I still take my gixxer to track days because I have 2 years of development into it. No way it has the motor of my 10R, but the $7k I have in the chassis makes it the clear choice for track duty. Development is key. Honda $ doesn't hurt either. You can bet they will spend whatever it takes to put that 1000rr on top of the podium. Still, gixxers setting the hot laps with what is essentially a 4 year old design. Wow. Shows what three years of that "development" stuff can do.

As far as liter bikes are concerned you are comparing apples and oranges. Honda, Suzuki, and Ducati are putting their factory effort into the Superbike class. Yamaha and Kawasaki are putting their factory effort into Superstock. Superbike gets the most television exposure. That is why you didn't get to see Tommy Haydens win today in Superstock, but you did get to see Duhamel's wins.

I guess seeing what that class is about negates any good finishes that could occur. No matter how close the only 2 guys who have chance of winning get, its still a worthless class. They might as well be out there on their own.....and in reality....they are.

They should just rename it to Formula HRC. After all, its about Honda not being able to compete in the US Supersport class so they had to buy a class so they could come up with those hilarious adds on Speed. Good for big bad HRC sending their superbike riders to go beat up no budget privateers on uncompetative machinery.

Sorry, but lost some respect for Honda. Talk about a endorsement for Kawasaki and Yamaha. At least Suzuki took their lumps last year in Supersport. Shame on Honda for running and buying a racing class versus run with everyone else.

It does make you wonder what the World Supersport and Aussie guys know that American Honda hasnt clued into. That Tenkate bike sure doesn't seem to lack any stick.

Don't worry Ozzy. This weekend I'm doing a couple track days at Putnam where I'm sure to be "discovered". Then when I get my factory contract finalized me and the 10 will be kicking some azz!!!

The World Supersport rules allow for a lot more modification than AMA Supersport rules. One of the Euro mags commented that enginewise, World Supersport and AMA FX would be running similar engine spec. I don't know anything about the Aussie rules.

This is true. They are lighter and make about 15 more hp. The weight over here in Supersport made a huge diff. They just didn't have the acceleration of the other bikes because of that. Top end was fine, but only 2 tracks really showed that; Daytona & Brainard, which they won.
