Why I think the 218 is an Allright Tire (pics)
So, here I am at 4130 miles after this morning's flog in the canyons.
Here's my front tire, with about 1000 good miles left to go:

And here's my rear tire, from an oblique angle:

A little closer:

Different angle:

Note the sipes (tread cuts) are all evenly worn from spinning the rear in many corners - the tire spun up and was very very predictable, never feeling squirmy or loose. BTW, dunno if the pic shows it or not, but those sipes are about 1/32" deep, and I won't ride the tire anymore. The wearbars were about 1/32" below the edges at 05:00 this morning, and so in a three-hour romp through the twisties, I burned off 1/16". I think that's pretty damn good. Your mileage may vary, but the pictures speak for themselves - I am not pussyfooting out there on the bike to get the tire to last.
And the new 208ZR, out of focus... but going on today and lasting long enough to burn the front up.

I think the tire is Just Fine. Good grip, predictable, was nice in the RAIN and HAIL Easter Sunday. Lasted a while, too.
Don't slam the tire, it and I did good business together for 4100 miles.

I like the 218 but it is a rather flat profile . The 218 is ultra sticky in >80* temps . Cool man , you got the 180 rear . You should like it a lot more than the 190 . From your pic the profile looks a lot more triangulated . Mounted it might change on a 6 inch rim . Let us know how it goes for you . Could you send us a pic of it mounted ?

Over 4000 miles on that rear tire is impressive. I'm about to hit 2000 and have alot of tread left on mine. One of the worrys I had about getting a litre bike is that I'd be replacing the tires every 3000 or so miles.
The street temps over there are probablly hotter than here in Texas, so maybe I'll get a few extra miles.

No pics until next weekend. Wife took the camera on her 'ladies who can' getaway, gone all day tomorrow. I'm headed out on business Monday evening, so...
I run 33/31 in the canyons, and 38/38 highway or commuting.

Dont know how you can get that sort of miles out of your tires,Considering i have just changed mine which had done 2732 kms solely gorge work of course and mine looked far worst than yours,Have just replaced them with a set of super corsas so will head out soon for are session, presently have 5 zx 10s within our group of 5.
One of the guys that rides with us picks it up on the back wheel at 180 k
if i wasnt beside him i wouldnt believe it.
