This morning's ride

So, I was taking the day off for jury duty. Called in last night and they said no jurors needed (probably so the judge could have a four-day weekend).

Who-hoo - free pass from work!
I'll have to take it as vacation though

Anyway, so I go up to the local twisties up by the Salt River lakes - having a blast. Not trying to impress anyone, not trying to go fast, just trying to carry second gear as much as I can, be real smooth, and not use the brakes. On the way down, some guy in a Monte Carlo (new one) is trying to take the road fast... after about three turns with me on his bumper, he gives up in disgust, and lets me by... I'm really in a groove, hitting the corners perfectly, carrying some very nice speed through the turns, gaining confidence. This was about the best run I'd ever had on this road on any bike.

So if you've been reading what I post, this weekend will do it for my rear tire. Hooligan time, or at least a little, I can try to burn up the edges.

On the way out of the twisties are some hilly sweepers, lotta fun at Medium Speed(tm) (right at the jagged edge of Felonious Speed(tm)). Empty road, can see around the corner (last turn before the desert). For grins, I hit it hard in second just before the apex and ride it up out of the turn, I can feel the back spin up (greasy feeling), and then the front is up, and I'm still leaned over, standing up with Even More Power(tm).

What a freaking rush. I am going to want more of that... and there are THREE WHOLE DAYS this weekend!

yeah, but I didn't get to go for the same ride this morning... the wife's got a cold, and I had to sit on the kids so she could sleep.
