Just an FYI when ordering your REAR SEAT COWL from Kawi.....
I went and picked up my rear cowl today from the kawi dealership, and was quite pissed. I opened the pkg to only see a hollow cowl shell, with no rear pad bumper and no hardware. I took it back in to show the guy, he looked it up on the schematic and it seems that there are two part numbers at the top of the page where the rear cowl shematic is located, the TOP number is for the entire assembly, the bottom number is for the naked cowl itself. So it will be another week before I get one, and just thought id pass the info along so that no one elses part guy makes the same mistake..........

You should have gone through RonAyers man, none of that crap if you order it yourself. I have mine and don't think it looks all that great, I took it off after about three minutes of looking at it.

Did you order the rest of the kit yet? If not you can still go through Ron Ayers.

Which dealer did you get it from? I saw a guy pick his up at Kawasaki City and they had already assembled it for him.

It is black and I am trying to figure out how to cover the holes for that secure the pad, I could use the extra storage space. A fair price is less than what you paid from your dealer, I got mine complete for $89 from RonAyers.

Well, this sucks, they re-ordered the correct part last monday, and now I call to see where my rear cowl is, and they are now on backorder from Kawasaki for another week......so i wont be getting it for atleast two more weeks.........
Why does everything from Kawasaki take 4 days? Do they not have Priority Shipping?
I wonder if they would let me cancel my order and let me get it from Ron Ayers? Does anyone know if he has them in stock?

It can be a little frustrating... Mine is going on 3 weeks... It's more than likely that those are made by an outside vendor and they simply weren't prepared for so many of us wanting them. I still think they should have simply raised the price of the bike and included them as OEM. Oh well, just think of how cool it will look when you finally get it!

I totally agree, they should have just raised the price and included it with their bikes like Suzuki does. Oh well, Ron Ayers is out as well, but what tees me off is I just called Corporate Hdqtrs for Kawasaki and spoke with a gentleman that said any Kawasaki Dealer has the ability to ship parts ordered OVERNIGHT. Knowing that kind of tees me off b/c I adamantly asked twice for the quickest shipping possible since my bike is going into a show next weekend, and he said 4 days was the quickest......oh well......patience is a virtue, I guess I need more LOL.......
